职位描述：
1. General

Area of responsibility: R&D Engineering

Superior : Project & Applications Leader

Location: FTS Department _Wuxi

                                                                          

 

2. Main objectives

Understand customer’s technical requirement and expectation, conduct application analysis and product specification, lead initial solutions to customers.

 

 

3. Areas of responsibility

The application engineer is responsible for the following matters.

· Effectively to interpret customer demands and technical regulations or specifications from applicable regulations and specifications to define and establish the Kongsberg Automotive specification of the product.

· Perform technical communication, consulting, service for customers and act as technical contact point.

· Understand customer requirements to develop DVP and follow up the related test.

· Evaluation of returned parts from test performance and root cause failure analysis with customer in cooperation with test and quality department;

· Review and release technical customer reports including appropriate conclusions and recommendations when necessary.

· Take the responsibility together with project manager to realize the projects

· Work closely with KAM to support business and provide parts for benchmarking analysis;

 

 

4. Personal tasks

The personal tasks of the application engineer consist of the following matters but are not limited to them.

· Component drawings and product drawings control and management.

· Release related drawing to production and provide drawings to customer as required.

· Analysis and establish engineering BOM for new product.

· IMDS creation and delivery to customer.

· Interpret customer demands and transfer into our solution, output technical presentation.

· Provide technical support to customer and train new customer how to use our product.

· Perform trial installation for our products on customer site and output report.

· Develop and confirm the validation plan for localization parts.

· Support analysis failure product together with quality department and find out root cause.

 

 

5. Main challenges

To be a competitive production unit in open and international competition. The most important challenges of the production engineer are thus the following ones.

· Understanding customer needs deeply, keep continuous communication with customers, and provide appropriate solution.；

· Support product trial installation on customer side and related validation.

 

 

6. Important external contacts

· Customers:Support of the Sales, Program Management in providing robust solutions.

· Suppliers:When required to participate in the choice of supplier, quality matters.

 

 

7. Competence profile (ideal)

· Education:Bachelor degree, vehicle technical background, vehicle engineering is preferential.

                                      

· Experience and skills: Min 2 years’ automotive industry work experiences.

Truck or Bus OEM design work experience is a plus.

Knowledge about push in couplings/connectors is a plus.

Product development process experience (FMEA, PPAP etc.).

Excellent communication skills.

Good English speaking and writing.

Good skill with CATIA V5, AutoCAD.

Good presentation skills.

?Willing to travel.

 

 

· Special requirements: Technical Know-how of air brake system.

                                          Familiar with automotive brake system and work theory.

 

 

 

8. Authority

To act independently within the compass of the current rules and guidelines of Kongsberg Automotive in order to reach the objectives of the business area and to meet the area of responsibility.
