About Your Job:
In this position you will generate maximum cargo revenue through effective sales strategies and promotion. You will be responsible for meeting or exceeding the set revenue/tonnage target for the area and provide customer service in sales and operational areas as well as liaising with ground handling agents, government organizations and head office.

Key Accountabilities are:

Operational Accountabilities:

You will plan, direct and control all selling and marketing activities of the station and penetrate the local market to secure new sources of revenue and surpass set revenue budgets.
Prepare a business and marketing plan in order to optimize revenue opportunities and maximize Qatar Airways (QRs) presence in the market. You will assist in preparing and controlling the expenditure budget.
Ensure QRs participation in sales campaigns and public events, collecting sales leads for circulations to concerned departments and stations.
Assist customers/clients with all information related to booking, forwarding, and delivery liaising with local ground handling agents and with head office cargo department to ensure a satisfactory service provided by QR.
Maintain a proper profile of all the QR cargo agents and clients and paying them visits on regular basis.
Oversee ground handling agents (GHA) functions and supervise GHA staff as and when required to ensure smooth operations and strict compliance to all standards and regulatory requirements.
You will ensure that staff in stations is trained on all mandatory training requirements.
You will oversee the Ground Sales Agents functions and keep the senior management informed regularly on their performance.

Management and Leadership Accountabilities:

You will formulate and implement means to maximize short and long team revenue opportunities whilst reducing cost.
Steer, lead and direct the cargo team for optimum performance in the assigned region and manage the regional organization and team against a clear revenue and tonnage targets.
Regularly evaluate the department or team objectives, plans, procedures and practices and make appropriate changes if needed.
Oversee and supervise employees, direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

About You:
To be successful in this role you will need a Bachelor's Degree together with a minimum of 5 - 8 years of airline cargo experience or airfreight industry experience with 2-3 years in a managerial role You will have strong negotiation and good communication skills. You will have the ability to delegate work, set clear directions and manage workflow and possess strong mentoring and coaching skills. You will have the skills to train and develop subordinates and foster teamwork among the team.
You will have sound knowledge of air cargo operations and management, ramp handling, dangerous goods regulations, live animal regulations, perishable cargo handling, load control and cargo security. Further to this you will understand IATA/TACT Regulations and its impact on sales. Strong English language skills are also required.
