RESPONSIBILITIES


The Facilities Manager is responsible for the following:


Supervise facilities personnel in the safe and effective implementation of their duties.


Initiate and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and spare parts program.


Oversee machine shop operations related to upgrade of fixtures and tooling, and machinery repair and upgrade.


Repair and maintenance of the building and equipment.


Evaluate and coordinate vendors related to the upkeep and servicing of the facility.


DUTIES


The duties of the Facilities Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:


Provide excellent service in the plant and other departments of Valex regarding facility needs and maintenance within schedule and budget.


Hire, train, direct, and counsel subordinate personnel in the safe and efficient implementation of their duties.


Assist in assuring compliance with government regulations affecting facility, fire, and security protection.


Assist in recommending capital budget items for approval and maintaining capital costs within budget.


Stay within specific goals and time schedules to improve performance in areas of responsibility.


STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE


The following criteria are used to evaluate the position of Facilities Manager:


Timely, professional, and accurate service to internal customers.


Demonstrated ability to schedule facility needs, and to communicate and set priorities.


Maintenance of costs within budget.


Timely accomplishment of job duties within schedules.


Safety implementation for the facility.


Support of company policies and procedures.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Read, write, and speak English.


University degree, Industrial Engineering degree preferred.


Minimum three years of facilities related experience in a manufacturing environment.


Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and AutoCAD software.


Some experience in setting up a new factory or making major modifications to an existing factory


Some experience in obtaining permits and licenses in areas of responsibility
