Job Description – Principle Software Engineer
 
General Summary

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
? Working with product managers to help define feature requirements
? Working with architect team to help high level and detailed design
? Working full lifecycle of product development including design, implementation and testing
? Working with architect to validate designs through walk-through, prototypes, and unit testing
? Working with QA in designing and implementing integration and stress/performance tests
? Mentoring team members with hands-on technical suggestions
 
Qualifications
? MS/ME in Computer Science or equivalent
? 7+ years of development experience in software development organizations with at least 2-3 years in a tech lead or senior role
? Must have both frontend UI and backend services development experience
? Strong hands-on programming experience with Java/RESTful API development
? Solid development experience on Linux platform with bash, ruby or other script language
? Strong web frontend skills like Javascript, Ajax, AngularJS, Bootstrap, CSS3, HTML5
? Solid experiences of multi-threading , distributed, scalable environment
 
Desired skills
? Deep understanding on the architecture of scalable, high availability system
? Proven ability to learn new technologies and expand skill sets quickly
? Demonstrated experience analyzing and troubleshooting complex problems.
? Detail oriented, analytical, methodical, a systematic thinker, tactful and diplomatic
? Strong organization skill with project management experience is a plus
? Knowledge on Linux Kernel is a plus
? Experience on Elasticsearch, especially on the search performance tuning is a plus
? Knowledge in agile methodology and tools, such as XP and Scrum
? Demonstrated ability to deliver work under pressure and tight schedules
? Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail
? Self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment
