The position will develop, implement and manage regional strategic planning and coordination of the security function aligned with The Home Depot's overall business objectives.

The position will be based in Shanghai with responsibilities throughout China, Viet Nam, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.

1. Plans and directs operations in the geographical region security function under senior management direction to include:

• Physical security to include all HD non-product facilities
• Executive security as designated
• Traveler safety
• Investigations

2. Provides security leadership to the sites and establishes the region's security business plan.

3. Identifies significant security risks, designs and implements strategies and programs to prevent and reduce loss of the organization's assets.

4. Develops and implements policies, procedures, standards and methods for identifying and protecting personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, sabotage or loss.

5. Develop and maintain close relationships with high-level law enforcement, diplomatic, intelligence, and private sector counterparts.

6. Conduct professional threat assessments and brief senior management on the status of international security issues.

7. Handles extremely sensitive and high profile investigations that may have political or social ramifications within the public/international domain.

8. Upon request and as needed, assists the security and investigative functions of other departments to fulfill The Home Depot's overall objectives, including:

• Assistance to International Logistics on issues of C-TPAT compliance.
• Assistance to Global Sourcing on issues of SER compliance and QA.
• Assistance to Asset Protection on shrink and loss issues impacting operations.
• Assistance to Information Technology on issues of information protection.
• Assistance to Human Resources on issues of employee conduct.

1. Master's degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position and more than 10 years experience with a major corporation and/or law enforcement, intelligence, military security or a private sector security organization.
2. Or, Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position and more than 15 years experience with a major corporation and/or law enforcement, intelligence, military security or a private sector security organization.
3. The candidate must have demonstrated experience and exposure in the area of international security and/or investigations.
4. The ability to professionally speak and conduct business in English and Mandarin Chinese is required and will be tested.
5. CFE, CPP designations are preferred.
