Summary of Position:
Oversees all embedded software development required for new products. This includes but not limited to the development of code, as well as the overseeing of code written by other software engineers - either internal or overseas/ outsourced. Also includes development and implementation of the process controls and procedures for the development of embedded software to the highest quality control standards, product and system test are part of work as well.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Working in R&D team, responsible for all aspects of embedded software development.
- Develop and review system designs, and make recommendation for the best alternatives from the perspective of software development. This may include application of existing products or development of new product.
- Responsible for coordinating outsourcing of software development. This would include specifying, development or testing software products, as well as selection of vendors.
- Responsible for coordinating software development in team, this would include review of software for compliance to software development standards.
- Responsible for defining software development standards.
- Responsible for design and develop software test specifications, and conduct test.
- Co-work with other team members like marketing, manufacturing, Electrical engineering etc, execute multi-purpose programs including new products, continuous improvement and existing product sustaining.
Experience And Training Required To Perform Job:
This position requires the following:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, software, or Electronics Engineering field or equivalent,
- Minimum of 3 years of embedded software development experience.
- Must excellent in embedded software development with C / C++ language.
- Familiar with assembly language programming.
- Familiar with development using different kinds of microprocessors, including but not limited to Microchip, Renesas, TI MCU, familiar with related development tools;
- Familiar with real time operating system concepts and application.
- Familiar with software team work and control process.
- Experience of develop and test RF wireless product is preferred.
- Software architecture expertise is preferred.
- Good multi-task handling skills, meeting sometimes-tight schedules with high-quality work.
- Good English communication skill.
- Good interpersonal skill, team work player.
- Self motivated, willing to take challenges
