JOB TITLE: SCIENTIST / SENIOR TECHNICIAN

To provide technical support within the laundry performance evaluation area for Warwick Chemicals.
The role involves the following key aspects:

1.1 To perform laboratory research & development work within the Performance Evaluation area to support/develop the business and respond to customer enquiries.
1.2 To have a working knowledge of detergent technology.
1.3 To be able to follow standard procedures and develop standard working procedures if required.
1.4 To prepare and deliver technical presentations in support of technical project work to external customers and internal contacts.

OUTLINE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Technical Aspects
2.1 Receive training and be fully conversant with the standard procedures and methods employed within the Performance Evaluation area.
2.2 Maintain and develop awareness of current technology and new developments within the area.
2.3 Lead and perform laboratory work accurately, promptly and precisely as directed by the Supervisor and recommend further work and project changes as required.
2.4 Develop new laboratory test methods and prepare standard methods as directed.
2.5 Assist in the commissioning of new laboratory equipment as required.
2.6 Carry out laboratory work to develop and improve existing processes as directed by the Supervisor or identified by self.
3. Communications & Reporting
3.1 Prepare a monthly report In English to record all technical work undertaken each month if required.
3.2 Deliver oral presentations when required in English and Mandarin.
3.3 Attend meetings both internally and externally as required.
3.4 Prepare action plans in order to carry out technical project work as required.
3.5 Ensure results are conveyed in a clear and concise manner by means of action plan summaries.
3.6 Prepare technical reports for circulation internally and externally to customers as required.
3.7 Record all laboratory work in laboratory note books following the standard departmental procedure.
4. Supervisory
4.1 Organise own work program so that work is completed to an agreed target date.
5. General
5.1 Ensure that all laboratory work is carried out in a safe manner in line with local Health & Safety legislation.
5.2 Co-ordinate the purchase of raw materials, equipment and service contracts as required to ensure safe efficient operation of the laboratory.
5.3 Report any equipment faults immediately and ensure that repairs are suitably carried out.

QUALIFICATION:
1.Bachelor or above in chemistry or equivalent experience.
2.Relevant experience on the chemical industry, detergents area preferred.
3.Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Mandarin, both written and oral.
4.Willing to travel to customers in case needed

6.Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and independently.
