Job Summary and Scope:
Senior Material and Commodity Specialist should have more than 5 years packaging related working experience with a wide knowledge of packaging materials, applications, manufacturing process. This role will require strong communication skills
and the the capability of leading the new supply base exploration, supply base selection and qualification, should cost
model analysis for packaging procurement, strategic supplier price negotiation, technical problem solving. This role will also
be responsible for material engineering support and commodity management for new product introduction and mass
production.

Job Responsibilities:

- Commodity Cost Management
Lead commodity should cost model development, and negotiate for purchasing price based on should cost
model
Co-lead with Product Developent Team for the new material, new equipment, new energy introduction, new
technolody development, process /efficiency/ yield improvement to Identify and obtain cost optmizationand
better environmental story
Support customer cost saving analysis and market research
Mentor and coach other team members in should cost model development and price negotiations

- Supplier Development and Sourcing
Manage the current supply base and maintain working relationships with suppliers and internal partners to
maintain adequate and continuous sources of supply.
Co-lead the supply base overall capacity analysis , and plan, explore and lead the new vendor qualification to
meet business demands increase and business location expand
Support the Request for Quotation and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the most effective cost according to
the should cost model if available.
Provide total cost analysis including the ex-factory cost, logistic and business model impact caused by different
supply base and working model choicesNegotiate pricing, delivery, terms and conditions to satisfy financial,
quality and delivery requirements.

- Engineering and Manufacturing
Cooridinate and lead the design for manufacturing reviews with the supply base and ensure all the customer
requirements are fully understood
Manage and update the commodity library with providing material specification, samples, application, limitation,
and capacity, and lead the communication and information sharing to cross functional team
Co-lead with the PD engineer to complete the manufacturer engineering capability, limitation and tolerance
analysis, and provide training to the design team
Manage the supply base tooling, sampling and mass production schedule and execution to ensure on time
delivery
Manage internal/external project ECO change with the supply base
Manage 2nd source qualification
Mentor and coach other team members

- Quality and Technical Problem Solving
Lead the technical problem solving of procurement quality initiatives.
Co-lead with SQE team for supply base corrective action plan and implementation

- Team Work
Co-lead the big development projects with cross functional teams
Manage stakeholders expectations and lead team to ensure on time delivery
Actively lead and participate in cross functional meetings
Support operations team for urgent/unexpectated delivery request

Skills / Experience / Education Requirements:
Engineering degree, Bachelors
5+ years relevant work experience
Strong Mentoring and Coaching Skills
Strong Statistical Process Controls and Quality Skills
Strong Design of Experiment Skills
Wide knowledge of packaging materials
Strong technical and problem solving skills
Good time management skills with ability to multi-task
Strong communication skills- verbal & Written
Good data analysis and documentation skills
