PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES / DUTIES:

1. Participate in the product development process for new projects by researching and identifying suitable equipment and processes to meet client specifications for consumer electronic accessory products with demanding geometric and cosmetic requirements

2. Ability to manage rapid prototype development, soft tooling, prototype development and testing with ultra high cosmetic standards

3. Evaluate manufacturing equipment requirements for new projects, review supplier capabilities, and influence supplier selection for all process equipment

4. Collaborate with our supply chain partners on maintaining controls on processing parameters and lead the development of equipment preventative maintenance plans and schedules

5. Define and manage the implementation of new equipment, equipment componentry and tooling, ensuring high quality and efficiency of manufactured products

6. Identify automation opportunities for existing production lines, scoping and specifying equipment & collaborate with the industrial engineering and facility management teams on cycle time improvement and line balancing

7. Manage our supply base partners in the design and development of world-class fixtures and manufacturing processes for new development projects

8. Manage the equipment schedule and qualification process for new projects with our supply base partners for all capital equipment

9. Collaborate with the internal product development team on part and assembly design & manufacturing feasibility

10. Implement industry best practices in equipment qualification across a wide range of production equipment

11. Implement continuous process improvement measures from initial product design through to production ramp of new development projects



PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering or similar

2. 10+ years experience in a Manufacturing Equipment Engineering role with a demonstrated understanding of equipment controls, mechanical and electrical systems & processes

3. Ability to grow and manage a business unit

4. Demonstrated experience in accessory manufacturing equipment specification, layout, installation and operation for high volume consumer electronic accessory products, with challenging tolerance and cosmetic requirements

5. Demonstrated experience in the definition and optimization of process parameters & process control

6. Demonstrated DFM experience and proven track record of innovative tooling solutions for high volume consumer electronic products

7. Experience of key Lean Manufacturing concepts, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

8. Demonstrated problem solving skills and a proven record of equipment supplier management

9. Familiar with industry leading test, measurement and inspection equipment

10. Experience in high volume processes that include:

· Cable extrusion processing

· Top communication and presentation skills - must be able to clearly articulate technical information and project management deliverables to the customer.

· injection molding, tool & die making, over molding, finishing

· Plastic & sheet metal part design for electronic consumer product; lathe, milling

· Problem solving/debugging in tooling/molding, manufacturing, process improvement, scrap reduction

· UL, CSA, ESD, EMC, quality test, shock and vibe

· Project management, vendor management

· Quality testing: components and system level

· Software: Solidworks, MS products, Agile, PDM



PREFERRED Qualifications (nice to have skills):

· Working experience with process automation-system and components

· Bilingual: English, Chinese Mandarin, Cantonese



Others: 30% travel to Asia required.
