Opening in February 2016, we are seeking to appoint outstanding personnel for the following position:
Nurse
Objectives:
The nurse is responsible for screening, treating, referring and reporting on the health status of the nursery pupils. Effective, compassionate and appropriate communication is essential in ensuring a trusting partnership with parents and children alike. The nurse will hold responsibility for the promotion of health and wellbeing across the nursery, possessing a sound understanding of current research on related matter alongside a solid working understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues.
The nurse will report to the British Headmaster and Schools Affairs Committee, providing verbal and written reports as and when required. Autonomous, determined and professional behaviour will be key features of the post-holder’s practice and these will be consistently demonstrated at all times. The post-holder must be able to communicate effectively with parents, team members and external agents involved in the health management of the nursery.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Provide patient care to injured or sick pupils or staff with a highly competent standard of nursing practice
2.Observe and document pupils’ full health history, ensuring effective and appropriate intervention to pupils especially when an emergency may happen
3.Keep and maintain accurate records of nursing observations and care
4.Regularly report to the nursery management team on any notable issues, particularly communicable diseases and important governing announcements regarding health
5.In an emergency, provide immediate first-aid or nursing treatment, reporting to the management team in a timely and professional manner
6.Operate a full screening service, documenting the health status of each pupil, providing a written report to the family
7.Liaise with the teaching teams to inform the children of health and hygiene issues (provide information, poster displays, healthy eating campaigns, oral hygiene etc.)
8.Maintain a high level of order, safety and strict control over medicine
9.Actively participates in any related training held by the school
10.Liaise with external agents as required
Job Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree, up to date Chinese registered nurse licensure
Major: Nursing (vocational or early years specialism preferred)
Language : Fluent written and spoken English, minimum CET6
Working Experience: 2 years and above of relevant experience
Expertise:
Experience of working in an early years’ / educational setting preferred
A minimum of two years’ post qualification experience
An understanding of young people’s needs at different stages of development
Fluency in English and Chinese
Ability to deliver excellent service at all times
Strong skills in Microsoft Office and database systems
Excellent communication skills with a diverse range of people and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritise
Ability to work to tight timelines
Preferred Aptitudes:
Demonstrating practice that represents the five core values of Wellington at all times (courage, integrity, kindness, respect and responsibility)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven ability to communicate effectively with different types of people and in cross-culture environment
