For Our Client // Production Manager
About company:
Our client is a German medium-sized company with a history of more than 100 years. The company is one of the market leaders for compressors and compressed air systems. The product range includes screw compressors, piston compressors, oil lubricated or oil free, complete systems or single compressors. Our client serves its international customers through its wide network of local distribution offices and subsidiaries and supplies products and systems to more than 120 countries world-wide.
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Production Manager in their Shanghai subsidiary.
About this job:
Organisation:
The employee operates in China and will be subject to the organisational and legal guidelines of the Chinese company, but he will be directed from and report to the Senior Vice President for Production & Engineering in Germany. He bears the managerial responsibility for the production staff.
Tasks:
The company runs the assembly of screw compressors in China. The employee is responsible for the on time production of the compressors and the subsequent quality tests. Therefore he will manage the purchase operations in consultation with the Purchase Department and plans the necessary personnel capacities with the respective qualified staff. He will assure that the safety regulations in the production will be adhered to and that the staffs are accordingly trained.
Requirement:
Essentials:
？ Degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
？ Several years of professional experience in the Production Department of a global operating company in China or Germany
？ Good English skills (written and spoken)
？ High quality consciousness, knowledge of European Standards
？ Confirmed success in projects with focus on quality management, inventory optimisation, production planning, Lean Management or the like
Desirable:
？ Ideally, work experience in a German or European company and a minimum habitation of 1 year in Europe
？ German skills beneficial
？ Chinese skills beneficial
？ Ideally, 3 years of management experience for a plant in China with up to 100 employees
？ Ideally, experience in the compressed air or pump industry
？ SAP skills desirable
