Roles and Responsibilities
Overall
- Lead cross-functional product development/commercialization activities - from technical development to manufacturing. Responsible for product program's deliverable milestones, timing and execution quality
- Lead the Program Execution Team (PET)
- Serve as central point of communication and coordination with the cross-functional Program Execution Team (PET), includes engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, finance, etc.
- Assign tasks, milestones and timing to PET members. Ensure timely and quality completions
- Initiate programs and maintain project team list
- Run weekly Program Management Meeting with PET team
- Run weekly Program Management Review with the company's leadership
Program Management Key Tasks
- Program Planning, Execution and Change Management
- Coordinate product development/production plans. Maintain master project timeline including key customer dates and internal program milestones
- Conduct project resource planning and track resource spending
- Coordinate development of capital spending plans, provide appropriation request for approval, and monitor/report the actual spending. Maximize savings opportunities
- Track product costs vs. cost targets
- Manage changes to the program (design, process, volume, timing, etc.)
- Schedule and facilitate program Gate Reviews of critical milestones with management
- Manage overall program master Action Items List
- Coordinate production line Run-Off's and supplier / internal PPAP
- Communicate with functional managers regarding program changes/updates
- Timely and accurately communicate program status and issues to the company leadership
- Identify program issues and risks early and address them
- Lead to develop resolutions for issues and coordinate corrective actions with PET members. Escalate critical issues to leadership for resolution
Customer interface / account manager
- Serve as single point of contact with customer for the project
- Coordinate periodical customer reviews
- Communicate customer requirements and changes to PET members. Resolve or elevate customer issues
- Maintain healthy customer relationship. Improve customer satisfaction
-Continuously improve the product development process
Temporary Assignments (Sales)
- Evaluate customer requests/requirements and coordinate to develop solutions for customers
- Develop pricing (products, NRE and tooling. Develop quotation
- Contract negotiations.
- Monitor contract execution.
- Ensure on-time payment. Revolve payment issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with major in engineering. Advanced degree in engineering or management preferred
- More than 5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
- Strong program management skills. Highly organized in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. 5 years of experience in program or project management. PMP certification preferred
- Knowledge and/or experience in automotive electric drive or electric machine drive
- Familiar with automotive component development process and quality process. Knowledge in vehicle development process preferred
- Ability and track record to deliver program on time, on budget and meeting requirements with high quality
- Proficient in oral and writing English. Ability to effectively communicate with overseas customers or partners by phone in English
- Strong coordination skills. Ability to facilitate effective meetings both internally and with customers
- Understand various job functions in a program. Ability to coordinate functions through teamwork and leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to maintain and improve relationships within the team as well as outside customers
- Some business development experience preferred
- Highest standard of integrity. Honest, professional, self-confident, self-disciplined
