职位描述:
? Support and monitor Line Management in the delivery and maintenance of Group Health, Safety, Security and Risk Policies and Management Systems across the Midway Operating Businesses and support MMM with Site Builds and New Openings.
? Develop and monitor across all Midway business functions, proactive management systems for Health and Safety and associated Business risks at sites
? Provide H&S guidance and training to all levels of management for the protection of staff, visitors, contractors etc.
? Ensure all legislative and corporate protections are implemented and maintained in accordance with Merlin Health, Safety, Security and Risk Policies, Business objectives and Health and Safety plans.
? To develop and maintain the attractions Health and Safety strategy to ensure a high standard of health and safety across the park.
? To champion Health and Safety issues at Senior leadership level and provide direction within the context of the wider business needs.
? To liaise with and manage relationships with the enforcement authorities on all matters relating to health and safety, fire safety, food hygiene and environmental matters.
? To provide specialist advice and support to the Head of Cluster and other members of the Management team in making key decisions involving safety considerations.
BUSINESS IMPACT/RESULTS
? Ensure all legislative and corporate protections are implemented and maintained in accordance with Merlin Health, Safety, Security and Risk Policies, Business objectives and Health and Safety plans.
?
? Establish and maintain procedures for the reporting, investigation, recording and analysis of injury accidents, dangerous occurrences, near miss incidents and work related ill health.
? Prioritise incidents and accidents and ensure significant instances are thoroughly investigated.
? Investigate health and safety/food hygiene/noise nuisance related complaints and ensure that such complaints are concluded to a practicable standard.
? Develop and maintain an effective risk assessment strategy/culture and via auditing ensure that all risk assessments are of suitable and sufficient standard.
? Contribute to the development and harmonisation of safety standards across the business through active participation in relevant Merlin Group Safety Forums and others as appropriate.
? Undertake safety audits of other Merlin sites and other safety related works as and when required by the Group H&S Manager/Director of H&S.
? Establish organisational systems and risk control methods relating to hardware and human performance by advising line management on matters such as legal and technical standards.
? Develop and implement cost effective safety management/accident prevention strategies to control direct and indirect costs arising from work related accidents and ill health involving guests, employees and

? Working closely with the PR Manager, promote a positive external image of the attractions as a leader in safety, environmental and conservation issues.
? Identify and evaluate new initiatives that will help to reduce costs.
? Design and implement measurable safety initiatives that clearly add value to the bottom line.
? Proactively identify safety related initiatives that will deliver leading edge customer service across the business.
? Be able to develop creative solutions to health and safety challenges that balance safety requirements and business needs.
COMMUNICATION
? Excellent communication/organisational skills and an ability to develop good working relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
? Promote a positive health and safety culture by securing the effective communication and implementation of the group/site health and safety policy.
? Provide the management team with advice and regular status reports on safety issues and performance reviews.
? Provide competent advice to the senior management team with respect to general corporate risk management and business continuity planning and maintain the associated risk register accordingly.
? Devise a system of monitoring and communicating advice to Heads of Departments on future changes to health & safety management.
DECISION MAKING & AUTONOMY
? To establish organisational systems and risk control methods relating to hardware and human performance by advising line management on matters such as legal and technical standards.
? Provide advice and support to senior managers in making key decisions where safety issues are a factor.
? Assist the organisation in promoting a positive health and safety culture by securing the effective communication and implementation of the group/site health and safety policy.
? Provide the management team with advice and regular status reports on safety issues and performance reviews.
APPLIED KNOWLEDGE & SPECIALIST SKILLS
? Good knowledge of current and proposed Health and Safety Legislation associated codes of practice and the ability to interpret legislation pragmatically and in the context of a Attractions / Theme Park setting.
? Liaising with external bodies and
MANAGING RESOURCES
? Manage the Health and Safety budget.
? Provide guidance on how to deploy relevant portions of other departmental budgets on safety issues.
? Ensure departmental safety representatives are appointed, appropriately trained and co-ordinated. Arrange and chair site safety committee meetings and attend employee forums etc.
? Compile and manage capital expenditure requests where they are required to tackle Health and Safety issues.
? Provide guidance on the attractions H&S priorities and ensure resources are deployed accordingly.
COMPLEXITY & PROBLEM SOLVING
? Maintain adequate information systems on topics including criminal and civil law, health and safety management and relevant technical matters/advances.
? Interpret and apply safety law pragmatically in the context of the organisation and relevant industry standards.
? Look to provide workable and cost effective solutions which balance risk and cost.
