Product Engineer
Summary of Position:
Be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of GPC technical database with the support from Customers, Sourcing Managers, Supplier Development Engineers and vendors. This role will be based in Shanghai, China.
Key Responsibilities
1) Ensure the Voice of Customer is correctly collected and communicated for any new projects.
2) Work with suppliers and internal teams to finalize product spec and test plan.
3) Develop and maintain the technical database for GPC product categories.
4) Work with internal team to create realistic development schedule, and closely monitor / participate in each stage when needed.
5) Work with suppliers and internal teams to perform design review and evaluation to ensure the uniformity of drawings and specification.
The Successful Candidate will have:
1) Bachelor’s degree in automotive/mechanical engineering or related
2) 3-5 years working experience as product engineer in automotive OEM/aftermarket company
3) Candidates will preferably have project management skills gained from experience with an international company
4) Candidates with Business Process Management experience will be considered
5) Candidates with experience of manufacturing processes like casting, forging, stamping, machining and other metal parts is preferred.
6) Candidate must be fluent in reading and written English and Mandarin
7) Candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills for effective interactions and cross-functional communications.
8) Candidate must be fluent in using Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office software.
