Gerry Weber Far East Limited is the Asian buying office of Gerry Weber International AG. With our offices in Shanghai (China), Dhaka (Bangladesh) and Bangkok (Thailand) we are handling the complete buying processes in Asia.

JOB AD

For our office in Shanghai, we are looking for a GARMENT MERCHANDISER (Knit products) who will have the following job responsibilities.

Follow up on merchandising activities for an assigned product/ brand segment starting from design concept through order placement and shipment

Review part lists, worksheets and clarify related questions before issuing to supplier

Be familiar with the competition in each individual product area, processing specific information on their price points, product line and manufacturing base.

Review SAP and deadlines before collection development starts

Coordinate between all parties such as head office, designer or garment supplier to make sure the agreed delivery date, price and quality are met.

Evaluating lowest possible production cost respecting company's expectations on product and supply chain needs.

Follow up cost calculation closely from proto sampling up to bulk stage

Conduct price negotiation with all vendors in order to ensure that most competitive market prices are obtained.

Price and delivery negotiation in bulk stage

Capacity checking and reservation with garment supplier

Train vendors on company standards and represent company values at highest possible level.

Physical Testing follow up

Collection review

Update the necessary data in the company’s ERP system without delay and push supplier as well for their regularly updates

Follow up, timeline control and pro-active working during the approval process (e.g. lab dip, dye lot, trims) from Proto up to bulk stage.

Take over from time to time other job according to the request of the Supervisor

Requirements:

At least 5 years’ experience in Garment Merchandising and on Knit products;

PC literate including Excel & Word;

Willing and able to work with various IT systems (incl. ERP system)

Good command of written & spoken English;

Creative, fast-learning, open-minded, self-motivated and be able to work under pressure.
