Title of Position: QA Specialist, China Sourcing Office (CSO)

Position Purpose Summary:

QA Engineer is responsible for supporting True Value Company’s Global Sourcing efforts by establishing initial product cost targets, performing factory audits (quality, environmental, and social), Production audits, Corrective And Preventive Action (CAPA) implementation and follow up, etc. to ensure all True Value products meet or exceed quality standards and on-time shipment requirements.

Responsibilities include:

·Manage Expectations by:

·Working with suppliers and USA based QA staff, to ensure all product quality issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.

·Communicating with Global Souring, USA based QA staff, and vendor community on all QA issues, procedures, and policies.

·Requesting and managing implementation of all product and/or process corrective actions.

·Working with USA based QA staff to Develop product specification templates,

·Working with USA based QA staff and third party testing agencies to develop Pre-Purchase Test (PPT), and Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) protocols.

·Working with suppliers, Merchandizing, Global Souring, and USA based QA staff to ensure we have accurate and complete product specifications.

·Deep knowledge of and experience in material cost and manufacturing processes necessary to perform product cost analysis to determine what the best product cost target should be.

·Performing factory audits (quality, environmental, and social)

·Manage Vendor Community

·Perform and manage factory audits as necessary and ensure the factories are capable of consistently producing products that meet or exceed our specifications and comply with all social, environmental, and other relevant standards.

·Perform random and follow up Production Audits on new and high risk products to ensure products meet our requirements consistently.

·Perform follow-up tasks for all requested Corrective And Preventive Actions (CAPA) related to manufacturing processes and/or product design improvements as necessary to ensure effective and timely implementation

·Report complete and effective implementation of all CAPA to USA based QA staff for approval before products are released to mass production or shipment.

·Review and interpret Pre-Purchase Test (PPT) and Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) reports before sending to USA based QA staff for approval and release of products to mass production or shipment.

·Works effectively with USA based QA staff and global Sourcing as a key member of Global Sourcing/QA team

Education and Experience Requirements:

·Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Prefer Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).

·Minimum 5 years engineering, quality assurance, or manufacturing related experience in a global sourcing, manufacturing, wholesale, or retail channels including finished goods product categories (i.e., hardware, electrical appliances, power tools, hand tools, plumbing, etc.).

Additional Qualification:

·Team oriented with strong work ethics.

·Advanced verbal and written English communication skills.

·Must pass the Background check.

Work Environment:

·Under regular pressure to meet deadlines,

·The position may require extended hours including weekends.

·The position will require domestic and potentially overseas travel.
