The Position

Senior scientist in cloning, expression and purification (CEP). We are seeking a motivated scientist in the area of molecular cloning, protein expression and purification. You will join the CEP&Biostructure group in Discovery Technology in Roche pharma research and early development (pRED) China. Your responsibilities are:

a) hands-on expressing and purifying proteins of therapeutic interest to support assay development and biostructure studies

b) developing and optimizing purification strategies for multiple projects in drug discovery.

c) training group members in different heterologous expression system including E.coli, insect cell and mammalian cell system.

d) managing and trouble-shooting experiments from external collaborators in protein production.

e) communicating with global CEP workgroup to support and develop new technology in the field of molecular cloning, protein expression and purification.

l Ph.D. with five plus years of postdoctoral training in protein science, enzymology or other related biological science areas. Candidates should have excellent publication and established track record. Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech company is a plus. Have hands-on experience in expression vector construction, multiple protein expression systems and various purification techniques. Possess team-working spirit and eager to work in a research-driven proactive environment. Have excellent presentation, written and coaching skills among team members. Preference will be given to candidates with additional experience on membrane protein and protein complexes.
