Main responsibilities:
1. Provide Service Desk Service to Southern China users.
- Works as first point of contact of IS service for Umicore Southern China users.
- Keep alignment with IS global functional team and ensure use of and adherence to the service desk standard processes.
- Provide IS technical support to end users, with focus on the end-user computing environment (PC, Printing, desktop software, …)
2. Maintain support documentation
- Maintain an accurate IS asset inventory and ensure software license compliance.
- Realize and maintain service desk SLA (to be defined) for South China business users.
- Provide training to users on ‘how-to-use’ IT tools
3. IT infrastructure support business development projects.
- Connect with business function and business project manager on IT requirements
- Keep alignment with IS technical functional team for IT technical solutions and support its realization follow project schedule.
4. Infrastructure technical support
- Realize client equipment (phone, PC, printer etc) and client network connection technical support.
- Realize meeting room, conference equipment technical support.
- Participate in and support IT projects (cross team, cross region).
- Comply with infrastructure change management procedure of infrastructure changes.
5. Customer interfacing
- Connect with business on the requirements, and helping the business by proposing improvement ideas and driving to closure.
- Pro-actively contribute to continuously improve service levels and customer satisfaction.
6. Keep expertise level up to date
- Maintain a good understanding of all equipment and software used within the operation.
- Maintain an awareness of new IT technologies.
- Network to share good- and best-practices.
Functional requirements:
1. Education:
- Bachelor in Computer Science/information systems plus 4 years of experience
- Certification in supported IT Technology layers (ex. Microsoft Windows Server Certification)
- ITIL foundation certification
2. Technical skills:
- Broad technical knowledge and experience of the IT systems and technologies (Microsoft product).
- Broad technical knowledge and experience of IT hardware and technologies. (HP, Cisco, Ricoh product)
- Hands on experience on server/storage installation, patching and decommissioning.
- Hands on experience on LAN equipment configurations.
- Able to trouble shoot LAN network issue based on monitoring tools.
- IT room management and rack IT equipment.
- Basic knowledge of project management concepts and practices. Has experience in conducting small projects.
- IT Security concepts.
3. Managerial skills:
- Ability to report on operations performance and formulate improvement proposals
- Ability to deal with escalations and work under pressure
- Ability to prioritize and deliver to deadlines
- Ability to present technical matters to a non-technical audience
4. Ability to maintain good and regular communications with all kind of users in China and English/Mandarin.
Personal skills:
- Pronounced ability to work in team
- Result-oriented team player
- Good time management
- Takes initiatives and can work independently to results
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to handle sensitive information with discretion
