JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title: Lead Engineer
Reports to: Engineering Manager, Lean Engineering & Seating, China Engineering
Subordinate: 0
Working location: Shanghai
Responsibilities:
  1. Develops the technical skills / knowledge and provides technical direction. Manages the design and processes for a specific project, program to meet current and future requirement.
  2. Executes robust design / design changes to provide the highest quality in the build and assembly of prototype parts with the agreed-to process. Assure quality, on time release of PLUS deliverables for Engineering.
  3. Leads root cause analysis in the resolution of any test failures. Reviews the analysis with the appropriate engineering management resources to resolve any particularly difficult problems. Ensures the appropriate management teams are aware of any potential safety concern.
  4. Supports technical design reviews as necessary. Provides input to the technical design review report.
  5. Facilitates and recommends necessary or required training for design engineer and support personnel for all basic technical skill requirements.
  6. Supports the program/product engineering budget, provides solutions to meet all technical issues and works with team to ensure time and cost objectives are met.
  7. Supports development of technical solutions to define and meet business objectives (cost, performance, timing, weight and investment).
  8. Implements and facilitates the use of BBP in engineering.
  9. Communicate effectively with management team.
  10. Be key customer interface in regards to technical issues.


Requirements:
  1. Bachelor degree or above with major in Engineering or Technical field.
  2. 7+ years of automotive experience in related field, 2+ years technical execution/management experience (prefer JCI/Adient experience in Phase 1-5 development).
  3. Good understanding on product development process / development standards.
  4. Strong technical background and be familiar with engineering & design tool, such as DFMEA / DOE / Pdfss, etc.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to all levels in the organization.
  6. Self-motivated, disciplined, independent and mature personality.
  7. Fluent in both Mandarin and English.
