Summary

The Backup and Data Storage Administrator is supporting and maintaining the various data storage and backup systems of Ubisoft, ensuring the health of the infrastructure and integrity of data. Moreover, he will contribute to the optimization of processes surrounding the operations of these technologies and the lifecycle of Ubisoft data.

Mission

The main responsibilities and routine tasks of the Backup and Data Storage Administrator are to:

· Ensure enterprise scalability and performance for storage and backups environments through proactive capacity planning, performance monitoring and configuration tuning;

· Proactively notify clients of failed backup jobs so that errors can be remedied promptly;

· Analyze and report on system performance;

· Perform optimizations of backup and data storage systems;

· Implement backup and data storage security policies and procedures;

· Install, maintain and upgrade backup & data storage hardware and software;

· Maintain documentation regarding configuration, operating and troubleshooting procedures, and service records relating to backup & data storage hardware and software;

· Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures, errors, problems and perform root cause analysis;

· Engage with HW and software vendors and other internal teams to diagnose and resolve root cause failures;

· Assist in evaluating new requirements, technical design and standards;

· Answer user’s query and service requests;

· Provide training to the users of data storage;

· Carry out all other related tasks.

Training

A baccalaureate Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.

Relevant experience

5+ years of experience in Backup & Data Storage systems administration in a large organization.

Skills

· Ability to work effectively in a fast paced changing environment -- multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

· Be dependable and highly-motivated, want to take part in an ambitious and passionate team.

· Excellent team spirit.

· Excellent English communication skill in spoken and written

Knowledge

· Good knowledge of SAN, NAS

· Good knowledge of Pillar Data Systems storage arrays

· Good Knowledge of EMC (VNX / VPLEX), NetApp, HP EVA

· Good Knowledge of Symantec Netbackup

· General Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server / Active Directory

· General knowledge of Linux
