SUPERVISES: N/A
INTERNAL: PM, R&D, SQM, Procurement team& Operation team
EXTERNAL: AVL suppliers & Potential suppliers.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Molex is seeking a Sourcing and Procurement professional to manage our new product BOM cost across the Consumer & Commercial Solutions (CCS) division. As an engineer of New Product Development Sourcing, you will be responsible for Sourcing, project planning and management, executing sourcing events, developing BOM cost models and regular reports to management. You will serve as the sourcing single point of contact for the product development teams supporting the sourcing activities of all BOM line items for product development projects. During the project execution you will work with category management to execute sourcing and supplier strategies. As the project gets closer to launch, you will work with Division sourcing for mass production hand over. You will assist the sourcing systems team to complete SAP set up. This role is also challenged to improve the supplier selection process and innovation through the new product introduction process. As an engineer of New Product Development Sourcing, you support market analysis and RFI process to find potential new suppliers in low cost countries. Developing new strategic suppliers in low cost country is an important business imperative and this role is key to achieving this goal amongst supporting new product lunch goals such as new business win rate and costing accuracy of products.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
? Partner with Molex BU design teams throughout Product Development process to manage BOM cost through Product Launch
? New product supplier identification, sourcing, selection and contracting for the CCS division
? Bring Design to Value (Manufacturing, Quality, Cost, etc.) viewpoint to Product design team
? Conduct should-cost and make vs. buy analyses to support sourcing decision
? Aggressively negotiate terms as required and in accordance with internal policies
? Negotiate legal terms under the guidance of the internal legal support team
? Improve New Product Sourcing processes and increase efficiencies by partnering with technical design teams
? Apply appropriate category strategies (Metals, Plastics, Electronics, and Outsourcing etc.) to new product sourcing needs
? Proactive supply risk management in the new product development process
? Monitor sourcing and procurement innovation trends in the marketplace
EDUCATION:
? Bachelor degree or above, engineering of Mechanical or Electrical preferred.
WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:
? 2 or more years’ experience in the Procurement function focused on direct spend
? 1 or more years’ experience in New Product Development Sourcing
OTHER TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION/SPECIFIC COMPETENCY:
? Strong leadership with the ability to motivate and drive accountability
? Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels within the organization as well as deliver oral presentations on moderately complex subject matter
? Demonstrated experience driving cross functional collaboration across business units and geographies
? Fluent in business English.
? Up to 25% travel
