Position in organisation : Reports to Sourcing manager

Main duties consist of the following activities:

· Projects follow up and implementation

· To establish a portfolio of potential suppliers for BDR Thermea products

· To manage and monitor supplier performance measures for existing and new suppliers to BDR Thermea

· Monitoring performance and delivery levels in assembly workshops of subcontractors

· To familiarise himself with all the legal and marketing aspects regarding BDR Thermea's business in Asia (Laws, regulations, standard price developments, market developments, preferential policies etc.)

· To make a selection of suppliers based on BDR Thermea's criteria

· To negotiate with suppliers regarding price and delivery terms

· To resolve technical problems in conjunction with the BDR Thermea technical departments

· To introduce and manage continuous improvement activities such as VA/VE

· To survey delivery dates of samples and series deliveries

· To optimise packaging and shipping

· To review and conclude quotations

· To translate documents and discussions in Chinese -English and v.v.

· To communicate all relevant information with BDR Thermea

· To prepare the visits of BDR Thermea staff to Asia.


Description of characteristics: Sourcing experience in Casting, Stamping, Machining is a must.

Knowledge:

· Should have a technical background and should have experience in getting results from negotiations.
· Should have experience with Quality systems such as ISO9000 and/or QS9000, TS16949 and should be able to familiarize him/herself quickly with the quality requirements and procedures of BDR.
· Should be able to read technical drawings.
· Should have a University degree or achieved comparable from working experience.
· Is willing to learn and understand the business policies of BDR and should be able to put these into practise in China.
· Strong communicator, persuasive, flexible and able to work in ever-changing circumstances.
· Must be fluently in Chinese (Mandarin) and English


Responsibility:

Working under the daily supervision of the Sourcing manager -BDR Shanghai IPO, you will be responsible for effectively managing the relative commodity procurement activities the BDR Thermea group of companies in Europe.
This will include the identification, selection and development process of new suppliers, along with the day-to-day management of existing suppliers and products. You will be responsible for ensuring that both personal and company key performance indicators are met, and that the affairs of BDR Thermea are well represented on the Asian continent by acting on behalf of the BDR Thermea company.

Contact
There will be regular contacts with BDR's Departments Purchasing & Planning, Development & Test, Quality and Logistics, across the whole BDR Thermea group of companies.
Contacting and visiting BDR's manufacturers and suppliers in China will be a main part of this job, as will supporting the activities of the BDR Thermeas purchasing teams with procurement activities in Asia.
