Responsibilities

• The main mission of this position is to lead the Purchasing team in achieving commercial success in purchasing activities in order to meet project and company objectives and drive 100% on-time delivery of all project related materials and services.
• Champion the Purchasing function ensuring that it is recognized internally as a professional, proactive and integrated business partner. To work effectively with Comau Group colleagues in the development and utilization of a Corporate Global Procurement
• Coordinate and execute the sourcing process for all purchases.
• Drive cost savings and ensure the team consistently identify the best value source for items, within the vendor base. To be instrumental in the development and use of new purchasing tools such as e-Procurement.
• Be proactive in assessing and implementing purchasing strategies, programs, plans and metrics that support the organization in improving its competitive advantage and profitability.
• Support the manufacturing sourcing strategy and continually drive efforts to streamline purchasing activities.
• Ensure that on-time delivery is met 100%, with less and less internal and external cost. Engage with suppliers to leverage the Company's purchasing processes
• Integrate sourcing and manufacturing processes and systems internally (with regions and countries) and externally (with suppliers) using structured methods to improve and/or develop optimized solutions.
• Lead supplier development activities with support from manufacturing and engineering to successfully implement sourcing strategies.
• Ensure project related purchases are effectively negotiated and develop/maintain good supplier relationships, including face-to-face meetings as appropriate.
• Support in the assurance of procurement budget adherence and comply with all appropriate strategies and guidelines; coordinate strategically with proposal efforts and drive sourcing solutions in the proposal stage of the projects.
• Ensure that suppliers are working within the Comau code of ethics, procedures and to the company's terms and conditions; work as an effective and knowledgeable point of support and reference for all members of the Purchasing team.
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures. To negotiate and resolve all supplier recovery and claim efforts pertaining to contract breach through the enforcement of contractual obligation.
• Manage a regional team of purchasing professionals at a central level. Cascade and communicate the strategy and vision of the organization through their direct reports.
• Hold team members accountable through established key performance indicators and targets.
• Ensure compliance to and establish corporate policy and procedures that meet regulatory compliance and group guidelines.
• Lead a team of central resources in the efforts of aggregate buying and commercial material expediting.
• Develop a strategy to align global/local framework agreements with regional business needs.

Requirements

• Around 8 to 10 years related experience in multinational experiences, among which at least 3 years in engineering industry
• Good knowledge and experience in contract management, planning and scheduling, e-procurement, supply chain management
• Excellent negotiation and leadership skills
