Organizational
Responsibilities Take an active part in defining OBO needs at any new facility and communicate development needs clearly with Planning, Product Tech and QA.
Work with Factory, and Product Tech to ensure data is collected, shared and meeting other departments needs.
Support Development Manager goal of improving documents and tools used by the development team or shared with others.
Work with Development Manager and Account Manger with communicating with Account.
Launch, and ensure sample are conforming to quality standards, customer request and timing.
Overall Objective of Position
? Check and ensure the timely execution of product prototyping and its accurate progression to Salesman Samples and P-Status
? Ensure all component parts and processes are managed to a safe and quality assured production standard by Production Hand Over deadline.
? Insure samples are conforming to quality standards and customer request, with QA assistance
? Coordinate with Purchasing team to insure vendor/supplier's quality and timely delivery of materials.
? Keep all product data and agreed documentation up to date, and correct, to be used by other team members.
? Communicate technical issues and offer solutions to Development Manager and/or Account Manager.
? Ensure Product Tech receives a production ready product, and support any pre production issues they may have.
Key Objectives, Tasks and Responsibilities of this position
Work on Pre Season Developments and Prepare for Season launch
? Work with innovation team on requests for pre-season related development needs
? Review past season proto and production process with Development Manager. Define and agree on improvements and red-flag issues to present to Prod Tech and QA.
? Receive Development Brief From Account Manager and issue to Production Partners.
? Pre-check Account requests and raise issues/concerns (Suggest to Development Manager the source bases for products in preparation for the kick-off meeting.
? Receive feedback from Kick-off meeting
? Work up early tech packs for the product.
? Fill-in early BOM and technical files, for DEV Manager review with Planning, Product Tech, Purchasing and QA.
? Prepare yarn and trim developments (search) with the purchasing team.
? Gather lead-time information from FTYs and report to DEV Manager.
? Issue prototype requests and work with Purchasing on sample material needs.
Lead the Prototyping Cycle and deliver Salesman Sample ready instructions to Production Partners
? Ensure each prototype is fully documented, and provide necessary information to DEV Manager about changes and updates to costing and sample technical details.
? Make sure production partners and vendors deadlines are respected and provide necessary information to DEV Manager in preparation of Account sign off.
? Initially review sample with QA and give the go ahead to QA to check in detail.
? Keep DEV Manager up to date on issues and changes, before Salesman sample production and price confirmation.
? Prepare relevant material for testing or quality review, according to DEV Manager/QA/Test responsible request.
? Keep BOM and spec data updated until P (Production Ready) status is reached.
Support Quality Auditing.
? Support and Quality Auditing or Production issues during Bulk Production Period.
