JOB OBJECTIVES:

Roles
1) Provide results to reach milestones in project or topic related activities.
2) Contribute to activities required by technical service.
3) Documentation of analysed and interpreted results to the R&D manager
4) Provide general guidance to staff for all kind of procedures in the lab

?Responsibilities
1) Responsible for the activities in the lab, organize and schedule activities in the specific job area.
2) Deliver requested results achieve objectives accordingly defined policies and procedures to realize business plans.
3) Provide technical leadership, demonstrate responsibility for the lab equipment being used, minimize maintenance cost, provide technical guidance.
4) Use of established working or testing procedures, if difficulties occur be able to make modifications to established procedures.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Carry out lab work and problem solving for R&D projects.
2) Carry out lab work and problem solving for market support issues.
3) Setting up new application tests for new segments, recommend changes or modification of procedures to R&D manager
4) Contact to Ludwigshafen Lab technicians and R&D managers, align test methods, data interpretation and coordinate work packages in global projects
5) Maintain work place in good condition and meet BASF Safety, Health and Environment requirements
6) Ensure consistent and good quality of work and documentation.
7) Comply with official quality certifications e.g. ISO standards.
8) Thrive for continuous improvement.
9) Be responsible for all the lab equipments in the lab, including calibration of equipment under his responsibility.
10) Provide training in testing methods to customers and BASF new employees.
11) Review patent/literature concerning application technology
12) Assist to technical part of business case for R&D projects
13) Support Regional Business by providing technical promotion aid for product launch and new market entry.
14) Plan, implement and conduct development activities based on the input from the market for products suitable to be produced in Asia Pacific. Evaluates new polymers with appropriate test methods and derives/recommends further improvement of polymer properties with regard to project goals. Translate application performance requirements into chemical solutions and synthesize new polymers in lab and pilot plant
15) Analyze raw materials, find new local raw - materials sources suitable for the replacement of imported raw-materials of existing and future developed products.
16) Ensure documentation of product development and elaborate literature necessary for market introduction of new products including starting point formulation
17) Ensure execution of innovation chain/phase gate process
18) Ensure that legislative and regulatory requirements are met.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. University degree in chemistry
2. At least 3 years experience in chemistry application lab activities
3. Operate and maintain equipment; English proficiency; Operate Microsoft Office;Lab Management
