Job Content:

? Maintain specialist knowledge in synthetic chemistry and process research (area of expertise). Integrate, apply and develop it in order to solve problems in projects and assignments.
? Stay abreast of new developments in the area of expertise and advice on applicability in business group processes.
? Propose and evaluate new ideas and support the initiation of R&D proposals and projects in order to contribute to innovations and new concepts in the area of expertise.
? Execute the agreed research programs / experiments, evaluate it and report the results. Plan and organize execution of research activities in the field of responsibility aligned with Research Manager.
? Participate in assigned R&D project(s), in which the specific area of expertise has to be applied
? Support and contribute registration and patent filing in the field of expertise.
? Establish and maintain an internal and external network in the area of expertise.
? Participate in publishing scientific publications / presentations; participate at scientific conferences and costumer events according to the need of the research activities. Keep up-to date with scientific literature.
? Provide guidance and coaching to operators, technicians, associated scientists.
? Comply with Safety Health Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) and other legal requirements.
? Attend plant buildup, tech transfer and commissioning, implement new process and optimization in current production site or toll manufacturing plant.

Knowledge and educational level

? PhD in organic chemistry or related methodology research, chemical catalysis and fine chemicals (or equivalent qualification).
? Good communication and interpersonal skills.
? The holder must be fluent in Mandarin and English. Knowledge of German would be an advantage.
? Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of modern synthetic methodologies and techniques. Experience in process chemistry and scale up would be an advantage.
? Application of modern analytical instruments to synthetic work is required.
? Experience of study or work abroad would be an advantage.

Required level of experiences

? The job holder shall have 2-5 years experiences of organic chemistry, synthesis and process research and development in an industrial R&D context. Most likely the job holder will originate from the fine chemical, pharmaceutical and contract manufacturing industries.
? The Job hold will be expected to conduct organic chemistry reaction and chemical process research, prepare chemical intermediates and nutritional products, and deliver a cost effective/scaleup-able process.
? Structural identification and analysis of reaction side products and impurities with assistance from analytical teams will be required.
? The job holder must be capable of participating in integrated project teams, involving team members from European sites and from other disciplines
? The job holder must have the ability to apply and develop new synthetic methodologies.
? The job holder shall be familiar with modern analytical approaches applied for process development.
