The essential job duties
Common:
? Performs research on the feasibility, conception, operations and performance of machinery, equipment and their components on a mechanical and electrical engineering basis; Mechanical and electrical design of equipment and/or parts; Prepares technical specification drawings for equipment and/or parts manufacturing
? Upon request from client, designs appropriate on-site layout for machinery and equipment installation, taking into account client specifications, such as functionality of equipment, its position in the process and available space
? Investigates and resolves problems with conception or mechanical operation of equipment
? Performs any other task required by Management
? Create, correct and update electrical designs per related industry standards (CSA, UL, CE, ANSI, OSHA, IEEE, etc.)
? Participate actively to engineering meetings and respect the established deadlines, create and update BOM (bill of materials)
? Provide corrective action for ECR/NCR, troubleshoot electrical issues and support production
? Maintain product database by writing technical documentation such as operation manual, drawings
? Keep updated on innovations in packaging industry, provide continuous improvement of company’s products in terms of cost reduction, supply chain, regulatory compliance, etc.
? Respects the company’s standards such as punching rules, policies, procedures
? Available for service support 24/7
? Establish stock code structure
? Establish customer file standard and procedure
? Performs project management for the given projects which can be reverse engineering, research and development, customer order
? Travel to Canada for training from headquarters.
? Responsible for all engineering documents being passed between our company and out sister companies.
? Handle the issues within departments, and responsible for the smooth coordination and communication among departments.
? Set up short-term and long –term targets , supervise the work process and results as well Cooperate with production, Purchasing and other departments
? Responsible for relative technical skills training
Senior level:
? Assist and provide support to the integration and training of new employees in his/her area of expertise
? Confirm system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods
? Sign off on BOM/drawings
? Lead Projects
? Allocate time in sourcing major brands
? Organize weekly / monthly meeting within departments
? Responsible for the management of engineering department; on top of project management, including project process, quality, costing, safety, etc.
