Key Responsibilities:
A) Supply Base
- Source new suppliers when and where appropriate, ensuring we are working with the best suppliers
- Develop strong working relationships with all suppliers including regular attendance at factories
- Have a strong understanding of product breakdown costs to support strong negotiation position/process
- Follow-up sample delivery and shipment schedule for assigned product range
B) Operational requirements
- Place the right product in the right factory according to the agreed strategy
- Work out critical paths with suppliers and ensure agreed CP are adhered to, reviewed in order to improve speed to market where possible
- Follow agreed processes and identify opportunities to improve ways of working.
- Ensure the products are delivered to the buyer’s brief and specification and are progressed through the supply chain in line with delivery requirements
- Co-ordinate artwork
- Provide full support during buying visits and escort buyers on sourcing trips when required
- Produce various management and progress report
- Maintain regular communication with the European product teams, with constant updates on product progress, including any problems.
C) Product & Market
- have a clear understanding of the requirements of our customer and Brand/s
- feedback to the European buying teams any new products, materials or techniques
- constantly review product including power reviews to ensure customer feedback is used for ongoing improvement
- maintain regular communication with the European Product teams
Qualifications required:
- Over 2 years working in a sourcing/merchandising function with ladies wear development skills
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Ability to manage a high and diverse workload and to meet deadlines
- Be self-motivated and able to work well on their own and within a team
- Good understanding of PowerPoint, Excel and Word
