This role will provide outstanding day-to-day administrative support to our customers in Greater China, which include authors, Editors, reviewers and anyone internally or externally involved in the customer’s user experience.
This role will also have a strong focus on relationship management – working directly with our authors and editors in the region to improve the authors’ user experience from pre-submission to publication.
Key tasks:
? Providing and maintaining excellent customer service level provided at BioMed Central at a local level. They will work closely with the Global Open Research Support team in managing internal and external customer queries and general administrative duties for all aspects in the Global OR Support to ensure smooth workflows. These include but not limited to our authors, readers, editors, universities/organizations and other interested parties
? Resolving queries and corresponding with authors by email, phone and web cases ensuring that communications are responded to within a timely fashion and escalated when required
? Resolving queries and corresponding with Editors by email, phone and web cases, ensuring that communications are responded to within a timely fashion and escalated when required
Key relationships:
? Work closely with Editorial, Accounting , OR Support and Development teams
? Open Research Group teams in Greater China
? Global OR Support Team Leader and Head of Global OR Support
Qualifications or Equivalent Experience:
? Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Skills/knowledge:
Essential
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
? A high level of computer literacy (including MS Office, Outlook and internet browsers)
? Strong organisational skills are required with ability to prioritise, and work under pressure
? Proven ability to manage multiple tasks at a time while paying strict attention to detail
? Ability to work to tight deadlines and react quickly to changing priorities and can provide examples of doing so
? Ability to work on tasks independently
? Excellent at cross functional collaboration and consultation
? Able to work cooperatively with colleagues at all levels
? Excellent phone manner
? Customer focused
? Excellent communication and influence skills
? Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail
? Able to complete tasks, working to (often competing) deadlines
? Analytical skills
? A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving in daily tasks
Desirable
? Previous Customer Service experience
? Previous administrative support experience
