POSITION SUMMARY

Support Merchandising team in sourcing quality merchandise from appropriate vendors and executing on product decisions.  Enable and train vendors to work in vendor gateway to support new product introductions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Assist Merchandisers or Sr. Merchandisers in preparing upfront work for vendor investigation and preparing work for project execution with goal of achieving trip objectives
   

2. Assist Merchandisers or Sr. Merchandisers in providing relevant product or competitor information 

3. Communicate with, train and support vendors in Vendor Gateway, providing them with reports as needed, with the goal of achieving Vendor management scorecard objectives 

4. Assist Merchandiser with Category Business Manager's trip/line reviews:

5. arrange samples to be sent for pre-inspection by vendors

• run reports

• collect quotes

• collect samples for Finalization

• land quotes and input into cost comparison

• track samples and quotes and keep team informed

• arrange samples to be sent to Home Office

• follow up on all details after trip/line review meetings for successful execution
  

6. Offer assistance as required from other departments at Home Office

7. Vendor management – daily and proactively 

8. Manage sample process and coordinate ontime ordering and review of samples to hit line review timelines. 

9.  The incumbent will support more than 2 to 3 merchandisers with many different categories and processes and will need to be able to prioritize projects and timelines.

10. The incumbent will deal with Category Business Managers, CBAs, cross functional teams from Home Office, and vendors of different levels & backgrounds.  Such tasks require the capability to maintain positive working relationships

    

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

 1. University Degree

 2. 1-2 years experience in sourcing, manufacturing, exporting or sales is preferred.

 3. Good oral and written skills in both Mandarin and English.

 4. Excellent computer skills – MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint (MS Access a strong asset)

 5. Strong Attention to Detail skills

 6. Fast learner

 7. Pleasant and professional verbal and email skills.

 8. Ability to contribute to process improvements related specifically to their job requirements.

 9. Ability to complete tasks in an efficient, effective manner while balancing the requests of multiple Merchandisers.

 10. Strong follow-up skills
