Responsibilities
- Provide advisory services to clients on a wide range of China import / export related issues including Customs valuation, classification, processing trade, duty free importation, and special Customs zones
- Draft and prepare reports, presentations and other deliverables related to projects
- Participate in discussions / interviews with the senior level management of client companies throughout the engagements
Experience / Skills required
- Minimum 3 years of China related Customs and trade experience, or supply chain management experience, trading compliance experience with industry in a multinational corporation
- Fluent English and Chinese, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of China import and export related regulations and practice
- Knowledge of WTO customs valuation rules, the Harmonized System code and preferential / non-preferential Rules of Origin (free trade agreements)
- The ability to deliver concise advice on technical customs and trade issues to non-customs personnel
- Ability to communicate effectively with both foreign and local clients on technical customs issues
Education and Professional Certifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in economics, law, taxation, or business
- CPA, Licensed Customs Broker, China Certified Tax Agent or advanced law degree would be a plus
