COMPANY & POSITION OVERVIEW

The regional compliance officer is responsible for the management of the internal compliance programs that promote the company's compliance with government regulations. Working under the direction of the corporate Director of Compliance and the regional ABS attorney, the regional compliance officer also is generally responsible to manage internal compliance inquiries and investigations and manage the compliance due diligence program in the region. This individual will also perform selected duties assigned by the regional ABS attorney.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
? Review red flags identified during due diligence processes and internal audits
? Oversee corporate internal inquiries and internal investigations relating to compliance violations in the region
? Coordinate investigative activities with outside counsel and outside investigative agency when required

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

? Enforce the compliance programs that are consistent with and support ABS' mission, values, and Code of Ethics. Recommend improvements to existing compliance programs and procedures.
? As needed, conduct training relating to the corporate compliance program
? Provide reports and status updates relating to all investigation and due diligence activities.
? Investigate and work to resolve any situation where the Company's ethics or compliance policies may be compromised, including offering recommendations to Human Resources and Senior Management on disciplinary action for associates who violate the Code of Ethics to ensure consistency within the Company.
? Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests,
? Independently prioritize and manage ongoing investigations


MANDATORY EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

? Bachelor's degree
? 3-5 years of corporate compliance experience within a major law firm or corporate law department, preferably in a multi-location environment
? International experience
? 3+ years of general ethics and compliance practices, regulations and laws, including but not limited to FCPA, OFAC, ITAR/EAR, anti-boycott and other trade compliance issues

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

? L.L.B. or J.D. strongly preferred
? Maritime or shipping experience

? Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the country in which they are assigned

? Drug screening may be required prior and/or during employment
? Base compensation is dependent on years of experience; package includes benefits
