The Segment
At Willis Towers Watson Investment, we advise large institutional investors, such as government funds, insurers and endowments on their long-term investment strategies. Collectively our global clients manage more than $2 trillion in assets. Our clients typically invest in a portfolio of diverse, global investments with the ultimate goal of generating long-term real returns at a rate sufficient to meet their stakeholders’ requirements. We add value by developing tailored investment solutions for our clients who are expected to meet these return objectives, but importantly, also take into account each client’s tolerance for investment risk, complexity, fee budgets and any other specific requirements. From idea, to innovative research to careful analysis and capable execution, we partner with our clients to give them a competitive edge.
The role
As a Manager for Investment team, you can expect to lead investment related work on client’s portfolio including but not limited to governance, portfolio construction, asset liability modelling, asset manager research and ongoing monitoring. You are expected to lead research projects and any initiatives that are supportive to China Investment business growth and development. You are also expected to manage the team and client relationships. Your duties may include some or all of the following:
Overview and perform portfolio analytics and quantitative analysis on investment portfolio.
Review investment products in investment portfolio.
Overview and perform asset liability modelling/ use financial models to assess risk tolerance of portfolio and recommend the appropriate portfolio.
Lead the production of client reports by co-ordinating internal teams and managing external relationships.
Lead the formation of economic views and related research.
Manage a team as well as internal work flow to achieve outcome efficiently.
Lead relationships with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects.
Build strong relationships internally and collaborating effectively on cross-functional team.
The Requirements
General Requirements
Bachelor’s degree majoring in Actuarial Studies, finance, economics, engineering or related discipline
Minimum 9 years working experience in investment industry including asset management or consulting
Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills that lead to successful resolving of conflicts
Self-motivated, hard-working, eagerness to learn and take challenges under stress consulting environment
Time management skills and an ability to effectively manage a successful delivery despite competing priorities
Ability to analyze the macro situation to form an assessment on future direction and detail enough to formulate and follow through an effective implementation plan
Calm and with people management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English
Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and modelling
Good knowledge on domestic (Mainland) investment market and asset management industry
Specific Requirements
Prior experience in private markets investment and/or client management and/or team management will be preferred
