Job Description:
The selected candidate for this position will be a member of the Tellabs HW team in Shanghai. Responsible initially for testing optical components and optical modules based on Tellabs specifications, especially for amplifier, gain block etc. May expand responsibilities into optical hardware design.
- Responsible for optical component and subassembly test development, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
- Generates optical module or system concepts to meet product requirements.
- Performs optical/electrical measurements and analysis of optical subsystems and components.
- Performs optical tolerance analysis at system and subsystem level.
- Develops test plans, creates test procedures, performs tests and data reduction and evaluates test data. Modifies designs based upon test results.
- Candidate needs to be able to manage supplier companies in collaboration with the Tellabs Global Optics Sourcing team.

Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years of experience with bachlor Degree
- Knowledge in fiber optics communication, in depth knowledge of optical engineering principles.
- Be familiar with industry standards, especially understands the physical layer specification.
- Demonstrate fundamental understanding for fiber optical component technologies and engineering
- Hands-on experience in testing and characterizing of optical amplifiers, wavelength management and switching products, laser, receiver, transceiver, transponders, familiar with various optical test equipments and platforms, related optical alignment, calibration etc ;
- Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
- Working experience with optical amplifier is a must.
- Design experience of telecom products related to DWDM optical transport system is a plus.
- Understanding of fiber optical component manufacturing process will be a plus.
- Analog and digital electronics working knowledge and design experience a plus.
- Proven English reading and writing skills, capable English verbal communication skills.
- Teamwork a must, excellent internal customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.
- Self-motivation and ability to work in a fast-moving high-tech environment.
