Job Summary



MATLAB and companion toolboxes provide engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and educators with an environment for technical computing applications.

In this role you will work directly with customers to understand their technical and business challenges, and then to help them to apply MathWorks products to resolve their problems. You will work across a diversity of industries including:

Responsibilities

You will provide technical pre-sales support and guidance to the MathWorks Sales Organization. Working as a team, the Application Engineer assists the salesperson in understanding and synthesizing customer requirements, then explaining the features and capabilities of our products relative to the customer's specific needs.

The key tasks that define this role are:


Assisting customers to solve their problems using MathWorks products and services.
Developing demonstration programs and application examples.
Preparing and delivering product presentations to customers and prospects during presales customer meetings and marketing seminars.
Providing customer feedback to development to improve MathWorks products.


You will support a breadth of application areas including:

Data analysis, Big Data, and mathematical modelling using MATLAB and relevant toolboxes
Application development with MATLAB
High performance computing (e.g. on multicores, multiprocessor, cluster, and GPU hardware) using MathWorks parallel computing products
Interfacing between MATLAB and data sources (e.g. Excel, databases), other languages (e.g.C/C++, .NET, Java), and test and measurement hardware for data/image acquisition and instrument control


Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree) is required.


Additional Qualifications

MS degree with minimum 3 years related experiences or doctor degree in in a technical subject e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science.
Excellence and enthusiasm in MATLAB is a must
Experience in operating systems such as Linux or Unix is a must
Experience with a broad set of MathWorks products (examples such as Optimization Toolbox, Statistics Toolbox, Signal Processing Toolbox, Image Processing, computational biology and Simulink) is a plus
Experience in C/C++/C# or Java programming is a big plus
Knowledge of distributed/parallel computing and/or GPUs for numerical computation is a big plus
