1. GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Provide technical and administrative support for company network using Windows operating systems and a variety of application software and hardware. Ensure network and systems security. Maintain knowledge of existing hardware and software to maximize efficiency of the network and system utilization. Provide written documents that evaluate network information for periodic intervals. Ensure all servers and network devices are installed, configured, and maintained properly. Manage backups of IPC servers and data. Maintain network configuration documentation and diagrams. Monitor and troubleshoot e-mail issues. Provide end user troubleshooting support. Install and configure computers and peripherals.

2. MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED

BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline and who has network support experience.

3. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

BS degree with Windows Server 2008 MCITP and CCNA certifications OR 3-5 years’ experience supporting and administrating a Microsoft Windows Server Domain in Virtual Environment and Network.

5. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1). Install and maintain servers (Domain Controllers, Remote Access, Web, Exchange, Firewall/VPN, File and Print) including applications and hardware on the IPC network. Coordinate assistance from third parties when necessary.

2). Establish and perform software and hardware maintenance programs following company and vendor standards.

3). Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, network peripherals and cabling.

4). Assist in providing computer and network support relating to hardware and software problems reported by users.

5). Provide support for the following: Windows 2010 Servers, Windows 7 and Vista clients, MAC OS X clients, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, LAN and WAN, Backup Exec, Veeam, Microsoft SharePoint.

6). Maintain a high level of technical knowledge of operating systems and application software being used to identify and resolve issues quickly and provide a high level of support.

7). Monitor and evaluate efficiency and performance of hardware and software. Using this information, modify systems to make them more efficient.

9). Ensure systems security by assigning appropriate permissions for application access, configuring firewall policies to restrict unauthorized access to the network and resources. Ensure all systems (servers and client PCs) are patched and up-to-date. Install and maintain all security devices including Firewall, Anti-virus and Anti-spam applications and appliances.

10). Install and configure workstations and printers on the LAN.

11). Utilize technology to provide staff with a fast, reliable, and secure method to access information including remote access connectivity.

12). Configure and maintain network services including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory servers.

13). Configure and maintain all backups and ensure that backup tapes are rotated regularly including offsite tape storage.

6. MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The marginal job functions are those which are not primary functions. If the employee did not do a marginal job function, the primary purpose of the job would not be significantly and functionally altered.
