MISSIONS :
- Plans and directs activities concerned with design and development of protective packaging containers by performing the following duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responds to customers' expectations in term of bottle shape proposals & modifications in a shorter lead-time.
- He analyses customers' requests forwarded by the project managers under the global studies manager's responsibility and support (Octeville).
- Updates the schedules and commits on lead times.
- Works on designs with the global process engineering support.
- Directly responds to clients in terms of technical expertise.
- Works on jobs forwarded by Octeville in case of overloads and urgencies.
- Works closely (in synergy) with the local process technicians (feasibility) to find the best technical choices to validate technical proposals and to improve general process knowledge.
- Follows package conception procedures & methods and has to vouch for SIDEL' s know-how and its confidentiality.
- Confers with representatives of engineering, marketing, management, and other departments to determine packaging requirements and type of product market.
- Sketches design of container for specific product, considering factors such as convenience in handling and storing, distinctiveness for identification by consumer, and simplicity to minimize production costs.
- Utilizes CAD system to produce 2D and 3D bottle drawings.
- Design bottle according to capabilities of Sidel Blow Molding equipment.
- Makes changes or modifications required by approving authority.
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling and safety requirements, and type of materials required for container.
- Develops sketches and basic specifications in order to present design for approval.
- Update database after design completion for use by others

Education :
- College/University degree
- Major in: Mold/Mechanical Engineering
Experience :
- 3 years related experience in mechanical design
Competences / Specific knowledge :
- Good command of English
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office, Auto CAD, CATIA
- Skills in organization, communication, reactivity
- Technical understanding
