Position Summary:

The Applications Engineer will serve as the HaloSource’s lead technical interface in China to support development of HaloPure based cartridge and water purifier device for home drinking water purification systems. Reporting to the Commercial Director – China he/she will work across organizational, customer, supplier, and geographic lines to help ensure product success in the marketplace. The Applications Engineer is responsible for all in-country technical activities, acting as the primary technical liaison internally (China-USA-India), and supporting sales and business development team in China and its export markets with direct interface with customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

·Serve as the HaloSource’s lead engineering interface in China to support product development efforts in HaloPure based cartridge, treatment train and purifier device for home drinking water purification systems

·Provide technical support to sales and business development teams to ensure appropriate communication of technical information to customers and prospects, conduct trouble-shooting for related technical issues, and act as primary technical resource for internal and external clients

·Develop technical solutions for embedded cartridge model to serve customer needs

·Provide technical and experienced inputs to customer inquiry/feedback review, and convert information into engineering offer with logical cost estimation

·Act as the lead role in resolving project related design and engineering problems in all project phases

·Participate in detailed design reviews with HaloSource USA and customer design /engineering teams during product development phase.

·Lead test design and assist in testing and validation product components

·Lead identification and qualification of vendors/suppliers, work with parts manufacturers in China to enhance manufacturability of HaloSource designs, and act as one of the main approvers on vendor deliveries

·Participate in market research/focus group meetings with customers. Translate consumer feedback into technical feature enhancements for subsequent devices.

Qualifications & Attributes:

·BE/ME in Plastic Design Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

·5+ years experience in Plastic Injection Molding field in Product Development and Application Development.

·Experience in the design and development of products or components for consumer products highly desired.

·Good project management skills.

·Good written communication skills with an emphasis on documenting design criteria and hand-off.

·Excellent verbal communication skills

·Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese

·Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent design software

·Ability to work effectively with diverse customers, partners, and teammates including scientists, engineers and salespersons

·Good listening skills. Able to translate consumer feedback and requirements into technical criteria.

·Ability to work in a dynamic, growing, start-up environment. Ability to multi-task, and readily accept change.

·Model a “can-do”, positive attitude

·Customer service driven with a high degree of detail orientation

·Able to problem-solve at the customer level

·Ability to work effectively both in small teams and independently

·Proactive in approach and capable of ensuring customer satisfaction

·Ability and desire to travel (>50%)
