JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In your new role, you will:
? Direct the strategy, development, implementation, and administration of technology and research programs for an Asia business group, which includes determining scope and objectives, procedures, programs, goals and objectives, ensuring administrative compliance, and implementing broad guidelines and policies
? Direct the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
? Supervise staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, compensation recommendations, and administering corrective actions when necessary
? Direct the activities of multiple technical groups to include overseeing the development and administration of policies, procedures, programs, goals and objectives
? Review and develop a variety of projects, serve on management teams, develop reports and recommendations, and present them to senior leadership as required
? Direct the presentation of technology, product, and application information to internal and strategically important external customers
? Proactively influence other departments on the necessary processes and procedures related to the success of the business unit relative to technology issues
? Administer and monitor the departmental budget including allocating resources and approving expenditures
? Ensure lab safety, intellectual property protection and product/regulatory compliance

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
As a qualified candidate, you will:
? Hold either a MS or PhD from a university recognized for its strong education in coatings technology or polymer, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and materials science
? Have 15+ years experience in polymer synthesis or coatings technology, preferably with a global coatings or chemical company with broad exposure to a range of related technologies (analytical, process chemistry, polymer physical science, etc);
? Have 8+ years experience in a leadership role, including experience building a team, coaching for successful employee career development and global and cross-functional engagement in a position of influence
? Adeptly apply advanced business administration principles and practices as well as project management concepts and developing/monitoring project budgets
? Provide leadership ability to engage and influence staff, business colleagues and senior leaders
? Demonstrate a solid ability to effectively engage a global research community and lead global research platforms
? Demonstrate a track record of significant research achievements through individual and group efforts including major program execution in a leadership role
? Have a strong track record of external publications, registered patents and knowledge of patenting as well as intellectual property protection experience.
? Demonstrate the ability to coordinate technical projects, apply commercialization principles and practices and a record of commercializing products with multiple technologies.
? Have solid writing and speech communication skills with fluency in both English and Mandarin.
? Have a strong command of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications.
? Practice excellent lab safety management; lab environments may subject you to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, and other conditions.

-Education:
Phd or master in western courtiers could be considered, the candidate should provide the publications/patent list to us
-Strong synthesis experience, prefer from coating, adhesives, ink or resin
-should have the experience in core R&D
- the hiring manager prefer the candidate with the overseas background
- expatriate is also acceptable for this position, but he/she should have the experience in China before
- you could find someone in the university who now work as the professor in the core lab, the key point is whether he could culturally fit
