Abcam, a successful and growing bioscience company, is a web-based business specializing in the production and sale of antibodies and related products to scientific research organizations. Our head office is based in Cambridge, UK and we have offices in Cambridge, USA; Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong, China.
To support our continued expansion, we are looking for a Network Support Engineer to join our Team. In this role you will be reporting to the Head of IT Operations and will be primarily responsible for managing and delivering all aspects of IT Infrastructure for the Shanghai Office.
The role:
? Manage Shanghai Office IT Infrastructure
? Act as point of contact and coordination for any IT issues
? Supervise and perform network administration (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems administration, internet access, office systems and applications support).
? Supporting server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications
? Rolls out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a windows network, with a strong emphasis on demonstrated knowledge and ability of the following skills:
? Highly developed verbal and written communications.
? Facilitation and change management skills.
? Handle multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
? Solid troubleshooting approach
? Current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.
An MCSE qualification would be preferential. Desirable skills include, but are not limited to
? Microsoft Windows Server products
? VMware
? Juniper Firewalls
? Switches/routing/network topologies and Dell server hardware.
? Fonality Trixbox/Asterix based VOIP phone systems
