Title: Raw Material Purchaser
Department: Purchasing Department
Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Based: Shanghai office
Purpose:
To maintain and develop purchasing activities in China relating to chemical raw materials required by Dishman Group and potential external customers with the aim of achieving most cost effective sourcing activities and keeping compliant with GMP standard.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Maintain and develop existing and new suppliers through planned individual account support.
2. Respond to and follow up purchase enquiries by emails and telephones.
3. Keep accurate records of suppliers’ offer, quotations to internal subsidiaries, shipping cost, tax refund rate, etc.
4. Provide timely and competitive quotations while striving to maximize cost effectiveness of sourcing activities.
5. To select the most suitable suppliers under GMP compliant sourcing procedure via phone calls, email discussion and questionnaires.
6. To independently complete whole sourcing procedure including enquiries, price and payment terms negotiation, commercial orders/ related documents preparation, and logistic arrangement.
7. To cooperate with warehouse for goods arrival and dispatch records.
8. To liaise and negotiate between suppliers and related internal departments to achieve acceptable solution for purchasing related complaints.
9. Keep files for commercial documents including orders, contracts, shipping documents, suppliers’ qualification and payment record etc.
10. Liaison with other team members for purchasing related tasks.
11. To behave ethically in all sourcing activities and daily business operations.
SKILLS:
? 2-3 year experience in chemical industry is preferred
? Basic commercial and logistic knowledge in sourcing process.
? Chemical/pharmaceutical background is preferred
? Basic commercial and logistic knowledge in sourcing process.
? Communication and language skills: sufficient English for email communication and daily oral dialogue
? Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Power Point etc. Knowledge on ERP system is preferred.
? Good communication skills and “Can Do” attitude.
