R&R for the position:
· Manage plastic injection mold tooling development for overseas Visteon projects sourced in China and Asia Pacific region.
· Able to independently manage tool design and development activities in association with the suppliers - Includes hosting and co-coordinating Kick off meeting, weekly meetings, frequent visit to suppliers and reporting progress.
· Able to track the developments and highlight any issues for quick resolutions.
· Able to review tool design and make sure the development is as per specifications.
· Able to independently review part and tool design in CAD.
· Able to review and analyze mold flow reports.
· Able to participate and generate molding trial reports, with issues highlighted to the team.
· Able to audit injection tool suppliers for their technical and manufacturing capabilities.
· Able to understand various Visteon tooling specifications and communicate to suppliers.
· Able to review the Request for Quotation documents and support commercial team in quoting and supplier selection process.
· Able to review change/modification costs and support commercial team in negotiations.
· Able to independently accomplish the final tool acceptance procedure at supplier before shipment of tools.
· Able to maintain detailed documentation of all the activities from RFQ stage to completion of the project, including RFQ, Agreement, design feasibility reviews, weekly meeting minutes, trial reports, measurement reports, issues with corrective action plans, pre-acceptance reports, etc.
· Frequent travel is required.
Education:
· BSME or Engineering degree in appropriate discipline.
· Specialization in plastic injection tooling preferred.
Required Skills and Experience:
· At least 6-8 years in automotive tooling industry, preferably as Tooling Project Engineer - including project management, experience with injection and stamping tools & processing experience with plastics, especially for automotive products injection mold.
· Familiar with CAD.
· Familiar with Moldflow simulation software.
· Familiar with quality requirements of automotive OEM in plastic products.
· Program management skills a plus.
· Experience as tool engineer in a manufacturing plant is a plus.
· Familiar with injection tool technical drawings and specifications.
· Experience in working with suppliers and various cross functional teams.
· Must be willing to travel, work weekends and participate after hours if required.
Language:
· Speak fluently, write and understand English language.
· Able to host meeting in English with overseas team.
· Speak and understand French is a plus
