Primary objective of the position

_To deliver complex projects through to a successful completion. You will be required to have an understanding of the specific components of projects from procurement through to implementation. Skills in concept development and communication are important, as is the ability to lead highly motivated design and documentation teams. This position is a senior level within the organisation and may lead to Associate level nomination for the right person.

Key Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are desirable:

_ Qualification in Urban Design/planning, Architecture or Landscape Design

_ Project financial management skills

_ Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

_ Advanced AutoCAD and/or ADT skills preferred

_ Adobe Suite skills preferred

_ Documentation skills and experience

_ Professional presentation skills (written and verbal)

_ Both English and Mandarin language skills are preferred

Design

_Demonstrate high levels of skill in Urban design and planning

_Recognised in parts of the industry for skills in particular project types

_High level of understanding of environmental strategies for various project types

_Critical decisions on design quality vs budget constraints are undertaken positively

_Encourage critical thinking, diversity of ideas and opinions, and find creative, value added approaches to problems and opportunities

_Over 5 years of project experience in China

Client interface

_ Maintain and strengthen the team’s client relationships.

_ Actively seek feedback on performance of the team and modify approach to ensure the client’s satisfaction

_ Give sound, consistent and non-conflicting advice to clients

_ Generate new ideas and fresh approaches to client issues

_ Recognise and resolve actual/potential sensitive client matters tactfully and diplomatically

_ Ensure that all relevant information about the client relationship is shared team members

_ Deliver confident presentations to clients

Management

_ Ensure Principals and Practice Leaders are aware of progress in meeting objectives at all times

_ Allocate and monitor tasks of a team in excess of 3 people

_ Assume financial and management responsibility for a project

_ Capable of managing multiple projects within the financial and resource parameters set by the company

_ Direct and supervise Urban Design and consultant teams for small to large and complex projects

_ Adhere to QA standard recording, communication, project administration and monitoring

_ Participate in the management of relevant discipline and/or studio

_ Seek timely advice of Principals and/or employees in other disciplines as appropriate

_ Ensure all work is completed to the standards required by HASSELL and has been reviewed / signed off

_ Anticipate and actively manage resourcing requirements for the project

Team Leadership

_ Communicate details of all projects to the team ensuring full and common understanding

_ Optimise efficiency of team by setting clear goals and monitoring progress

_ Build a positive team environment by focussing on team based goals, co-operation and team achievements

_ Act as a role model, embodying behaviour consistent with the HASSELL values which employees respect and learn from

_ Solicit and act upon feedback (including upwards) to improve team processes, promote morale and productivity

_ Coach employees on the job through appropriate guidance, feedback and support

_ Encourage/enable team member participation through formal development programs

Business Development

_ Assist discipline leadership in the generation of new business

_ Identify opportunities for other disciplines

_ Identify opportunities and assist with the preparation of winning submissions using appropriate HASSELL tools

_ Undertake an active role in the industry via industry bodies or tertiary institutions

_ 发现并巧妙解决客户现有或潜在的敏感问题

管理

_ 确保董事和公司领导随时知悉项目进展和目标完成情况

_ 向团队成员分配任务并监管完成情况，团队成员不低于3人

_ 承担项目财务和管理职责

_ 能够在公司规定的财务和资源配给范围内管理多个项目

_ 对于各种规模和复杂度的项目，指导并监管城市设计团队和顾问团队的工作

_ 按照QA标准进行记录、沟通和项目管理监督的工作

_ 参与相关专业领域和/或事务所的管理工作

_ 酌情及时寻求董事或其他专业领域同事的建议
