STUDIO MANAGER


SUMMARY
The Studio Manager oversees the efficient operation of the creative development process for in-house projects. They will collaborate with all relevant marketing functions to foster artistic excellence through clear direction, proper focus, and unyielding accountability. Priorities include resource management, information coordination, team vitality, and connecting the proverbial dots.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Resource Management
Fashion high-performing creative project teams according to skill, availability, and scope
Quickly grasp the skills and time necessary for each project’s success
Maximize each person’s strengths and avoid unreasonable exposure to weaknesses
Carve out time for creative thought through balanced resource planning and information clarity
Provide leadership with guidance regarding studio capacity and/or morale

Information Coordination
Understand the relationship between all seasons, projects, vehicles, and channels
Validate, refine and streamline all work requests coming into the studio
Drive the department to provide clear and complete information, maintain brand and seasonal resource kits
Establish a common cause and shared mindset through each season, event, and project

Team Vitality
Identify and implement streamlined creative processes, resources and technology Work with placement agencies and recruiters to find qualified creative candidates Set up on-boarding systems to quickly integrate new employees and freelancers
Establish and manage a freelance talent database, suggesting supplemental resources when appropriate
Actively participate in and/or run design meetings to review, critique and discuss creative concepts for presentation
Keep the creative team on track and highly motivated, make space for inspiration
Use humor and support it in others, building a sense of joy and fun for the team
Be a rallying cry for departure from business as usual, encourage people to think, talk and act differently

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years of hands-on studio and creative management, college degree or equivalent business experience
