Position
? Engineer (China)

Purpose
? Participate in the design, development, testing and related processes essential in the production of the mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and hydraulic systems supporting the manufacture, sale and service of aerial devices, digger derricks and other specialty equipment comprising the company’s product line.

Responsibilities

? Practice prudent engineering and effectively apply formal engineering training to add to the overall effectiveness of the Engineering Group and enhancement of Altec’s position within the product line.
? Participate and contribute productively as part of Altec’s team-oriented design, manufacture and customer service/support efforts.
? Operates with some decision-making latitude within the scope of an assignment.
? Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the engineering field.
? Communicate with customers on issues of technical specifications, product design and operation as appropriate.
? Provide technical support to sales associates.
? Gain the skills necessary to become a Senior Engineer.
? Produce/evaluate new designs and components to improve quality, cost and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering principles with support of other functional engineers, manufacturing, supply management and other personnel.
? Research and evaluate new materials, equipment, and processes.
? Develop component drawings and prototypes.
? Identify sources of products, materials and components.
? Ensure designs meet customer requirements.
? Provide Customer support.


Qualifications

? External Candidates will have a Master’s Degree in Engineering AND a minimum of three (3) years experience in engineering or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering AND a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years experiences in engineering.
? All Candidates will have the following:
? Demonstrated through understanding and ability in basic engineering practices and principles.
? Must be personable and effectively interact with other associates, departments, operations, distributors, vendors, customers, etc.
? Good analytical, verbal, and written skills.
? Basic understanding of business principles and practice.
? Demonstrated capacity as a self-starter with ability to work under only a moderate level of supervision.
? Must be confident, dynamic, and successful in working as part of a team.
? Proficiency in the use of personal computers and associated software.
? Bachelor degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred).
? Computer literate.
? Engineering drafting experience using computer aided software such as AutoCad and SolidWorks.
? Good analytical and written skills required.
? Ability to handle multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
? Good analytical and problem solving skills with knowledge in interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing processes.
? Some travel throughout China expected.
? Some speaking and writing English a plus but not required
