Job Summary
Drive the usage of MATLAB and Simulink in research and education within universities. This person will be responsible for technical engagements with academic customers, supporting curriculum development, and participation in conferences and other relevant events. Additionally, this person will partner with MathWorks stakeholders including sales, development and subject matter experts to drive customer success.
Responsibilities
The Education Technical Evangelist ( TE) will work with university contacts to understand and validate the university goals at a set of named universities that have a MATLAB Campus-wide license. The TE will align their engagements to support the university’s goals which drive deep adoption and usage of our products. The TE will be responsible for assessing and regularly reviewing key measures of success for assigned universities. The TE will develop Engagement Plans and Activity Plans to increase adoption and usage across all relevant university departments for both teaching and research. The TE will also partner with stakeholders to coordinate activities geared towards driving broad awareness on-campus. The TE will partner with EDU Sales to communicate the impact of their engagements on the university’s goals, adoption and usage to ensure that the university will continue to maintain and renew their Campus-wide license.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree) is required.
Additional Qualifications
MS in Engineering or Science required
Proven experience with MATLAB & Simulink. Experience with other MathWorks products preferred
Experience in a Sales, Marketing or Customer-Facing Technical role is a plus
Experience as a graduate-level Research or Teaching Assistant is a plus
Strong interpersonal skills
Exceptional written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
3-5 years of work experience in a customer success or equivalent customer facing role
Demonstrated ability to influence and direct customer activities
Detail oriented and ability to develop activities based upon proactive analysis and validation of customer metric
Able to adapt and execute their plans with changing situations
Demonstrated ability to work in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments
Experience working with customers at multiple levels, including Deans, Dept Chairs, Professors, Research Staff
Able to leverage social media to make an impact
