Summary of the Role Manage the Casting/EESE/Heat treatment/Painting/Rubber & Plastic suppliers to achieve the aligned requirement with Volvo Global Standard

Main responsibilities
1. Lead site evaluation and provide sourcing recommendation for critical commodity
2. Present and review warranty data for critical commodities
3. Drive continuous improvements and resolution of systematic site concerns. Provide site Lessons Learned to program and suppliers.
4. Ensure transfer of knowledge and previous lessons learned are implemented robustly in control plan and process sheets
5. Utilize Global Manufacturing Standards to enable world class quality and productivity
6. Co-lead PPAP sign off for critical commodities globally
7. Co-lead supplier initiated engineering change approval for critical commodities
8. Develop and deploy training, tools and single point lessons to STA, PD and global suppliers
9. Develop and deploy globally common manufacturing standards
10. Ensure supplier manufacturing feasibility for critical commodities globally
11. Support supplier Build-up reliable & stable process to ensure new products & project can be realized effectively according to schedule for mass production
12. Define standards, procedures and assessment criteria for processes
13. Drive the systemic elimination of supplier manufacturing responsible Stop Shipment
14. Achieve zero repeats for any previously identified failure modes related to supplier
15. Coach colleagues Casting/EESE/Heat treatment/Painting/Rubber & Plastic knowledge

Qualifications
1. Bachelor or Above; M.S. desired
2. Proficiency in English, oral and written
3. Drive solving of problems and concerns and implement work plan within the area of expertise and specialist competence
4. Ability to manage multiple items at the same time without loosing focus or quality
5. Have a strong holistic view and high degree of courage, Integrity and business ethics
6. Feeling at home in an international and diverse environment
7. Positive attitude, resolute and high drive for results
8. Experienced in working cross-functionally
9. Have a strong drive, leadership and ability to proactively develop and improve the supplier base
10. Very good communication (verbal and written) and social skills
11. Ability to travel 3-4 overnights stay per week
Casting & Heat treatment,
Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or related education
EESE,
EE Engineering or related education
Painting,
Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering fields
Rubber & Plastic,
Plastics engineering or polymers science degree preferred with strong plastics/rubber training and experience acceptable

Experience Required
5+ years working experiences in well-known OEM or supplier of automotive industry in STA (supplier quality related) area.
Casting,
1. Iron and Aluminium casting expertise is preferred and must
2. Experienced in production/production technique, design and quality with good knowledge of Chassis or Power train products
EESE,
Experienced in production/production technique (e.g. SMT) , process design and quality control with good knowledge of Electric and Electrical products, be able to provide technique support as expert
Heat treatment,
Experienced in production/production technique (Quenching, Carburizing, Nitrifying, Induction hardening, Heat Treatment after aluminium casting, etc.), design and quality with good knowledge of Power train or Chassis products, be able to provide technique support as expert
Painting,
Experienced on painting and/or coating process on plastic and process quality analyzing in automotive surface treatment fields
Rubber & Plastic,
Experienced with hands-on injection molding, rubber compounding and processing process engineering & quality/production systems at Tier 1 or captive molder. Experience in other processes such as blow molding, rotational molding, thermoforming, SMC and reaction injection molding will be considered

Competencies
1. Good knowledge of five core tools(PPAP/APQP/SPC/MSA/PFMEA)
2. Knowledge of quality management system, TS16949 internal auditor is preferred
3. 6 sigma green belt is preferred, lean experience is preferred
4. Good knowledge and practice of GD&T
5. Good problem solving skill, good practice of 8D, 5 WHY and continue improvement
6. Excellent technical and analytic skills with extensive experience in supplier manufacturing processes
7. Good knowledge how to manage STA IT and quality tools/systems/processes
EESE,
1. Be familiar with EMC knowledge and relevant solution
2. Have experience about following EESE commodities: EDS, Power Supply, Driver Controls, Security & Body Electronics, Active Safety Electronics, Infotainment System, etc
3. Forecast Vehicle Electric/Electrical development trend
4. Have knowledge and ability to review correct deployment of ESD (Electric Static Discharge) standards at suppliers for EPA (ESD Protected Areas)
5. Have knowledge / experience from lead free soldering process and requirements (this is a relative new area)
Heat treatment,
Good command of the metallurgical & metallic knowledge
Painting,
1. Familiar with painting equipments including paint robot, spray gun, bell, pumps and so on
2. Rich experience in surface pre-treatment, spray painting/decoration coating, E-coating, and powder painting. Know well for paint process commissioning, including air spray, air mix spray, air less spray and e-stat spray
3. Fully understand the EN, GB, ISO standards of paint and test machine
4. Experienced in painting process optimization and troubleshooting
Rubber & Plastic,
1. Experience with multiple materials (nylons, PP, PE, ABS, PC, HNBR, NBR, CR, SBR, EPDM, TPE etc) and large part injection, and/or rubber compounding and processing
2. Experienced in material selection for new and existing products, process optimization and troubleshooting
3. Experience in plastics analysis and material/ component testing including: DSC, TGA, TMA, GPC, FTIR, SEM/ EDS
4. Rubber failure analysis experience, mechanical and thermal
5. Knowledge of drawing and product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
6. Knowledge of mold and tooling design.
