Product Requirement & Compliance Specialist
About the job
Purpose of this Job
- To secure that the IKEA range sold in your country complies with the Product Safety laws in your country
- To secure that the process for correct reporting and handling of product safety is working in your country and is connected to IKEA of Sweden AB

Main Tasks
- Being the expert within the Retail country on Product Safety & Compliance issues
- Coordinate all Product safety & Compliance issues within the retail country and when needed support other IKEA units in the country.
- Identify, interpret and document relevant national product standards and regulations.
- Translate standards and regulations applicable for the sales market.
- Report to IKEA of Sweden new or changed National standards and support in how to fulfill legal demands.
- Review and analyze test results and keep close communication with test labs.
- Secure that the IKEA routines established to handle "product safety issues" (e.g. Safety Alarm) are implemented and working in the retail country.
- Develop a good working relationships with national consumer authorities and be identified as the IKEA contact person in all matters relating to product safety and compliance on the local market.
- Develop and maintain a network of internal and external compliance experts on the sales markets.
- Identify and develop contacts consumer organizations on the local market and promote the perception of IKEA as the "good company".
- Develop and maintain knowledge about IKEA product requirements.

Profile of suitable candidates
General retailing experience
- University education and long experience of product safety and compliance, testing or similar.
- Fluent English spoken and written.
- Good knowledge of national product legislation.
- Good presentation skills.
- Must be computer literate
Communication skills
- Must have highly developed networking skills to build relations to local government authorities
- Must be able to speak and understand English
- Attention to detail and ability to create proper documentation
Leadership skills
This role is primarily a specialist role so the emphasis is more on specialist skills than on leadership capabilities. A strong analytical mind is needed coupled with being able to cope with a very high workload
