Position: Sourcing Engineer
Location: Shanghai
Report to: Operation Manager

Responsibilities:

To in a short period of time, search and identify potential supplier base (both existing and potential) primarily (but not limited to) the Shanghai area to support China Business.
Identify best product supply solution, considering total cost, quality, lead-time, supply chain and commercial terms.
Close and swift communication with suppliers. Make sure the supplier has understood and can implement and realize requirements based on technical, commercial and other documentation.
Insist on supplier's feedback on difficult technical requirements. Respond to questions or problems raised by suppliers.
Meet the company's overall supplier management directives and improvement targets.
Key deliverable
Identify most suitable supplier considering project plan, manufacturability, quality, supply chain and total cost.
Number of successful initial samples.
Meet or exceed targets for product availability, price, quality, lead-times and other key-terms in relation to project plan and benchmarks.
Actions to find best solution for internal customers
Other duties instructed from time to time by the direct supervisor of the Employee.

Professional experience:

Minimum 5 years experience within sourcing. Minimum 10 years working experience
Experienced in working in complex product localization projects in a multinational industrial organization.
Experienced in supplier identification and development.
Ability to evaluate supplier's capability to manufacture and deliver products at the right quality and at the right time.
Able to thoroughly communicate and assure the supplier has understood technical, commercial and other requirements.
Proven ability to successfully drive supplier negotiation on cost, contract terms and initiatives.
Experienced with total cost sourcing.
Good communication skills in both written and spoken Chinese Mandarin and English.
Proficient in MS Office & MS Project. ERP experience is preferred.
Familiar with ISO 9000/14000, TQM and international/national material standards.
Personal situation that for frequent domestic supplier visits.

Desired profile of the candidate

Education: Bachelor degree or similar in mechanical engineering or related subject, preferably hydraulic for the industry.
Language:Good oral and written skills in Chinese and English
