职位描述：
This position is responsible for the Cost Accounting function in APAC. This person is expected to ensure timely/accurate closing of cost & inventory reporting, ensure effective internal controls on all key processes including compliance with SOX/IFC, provide collaborative supports to the plant management/cost center managers and develop/manage a professional costing team.

People management and development
- Resource planning with 2nd level supervisor of cost accounting roles
- People management and development including goal setting, review and coaching, career planning, people recognition, etc.
- Promote and build a learning environment for cost accountants through on-going team training, sharing of experiences, and process improvements.
- Ensure local training and coaching process for people new to the local cost process. Ensure local participation on the global cost accounting meetings &training

Cost Accounting Expertise
- Monitor cost accounting data and master data for accuracy and proper linkage to management reporting.
- Monitor cost accounting resource effectiveness and accuracy working with the designed cost accounting processes.
- Align management reporting and analysis requirements to Financial & Statutory Controllers, legal entity analysis, and corporate requirements.
- Be accountable and responsible for specific work processes owned. Ensure work processes are documented and kept up to date, provide periodic training when necessary.
- Provide local input requirements into global work process designs. Monitor and measure local work processes, in support of global work process improvements.
- Ensure US and local GAAP requirements are understood, met, and consistently applied
- Ensure Cost Accounting work process and closing schedules are adhered to for area of responsibility.

Internal Controls
- Account Reconciliation and JE approval are in place and reviewed routinely.
- Promote Internal Control education and consultation, ensure compliance for all inventory/costing related SOX controls at the APAC level.
- Provide local support for both internal and external audits in APAC.
- Maintain the highest level of integrity regarding accounting standards and the interpretation thereof.

Customer/Partner Focus
- Ensure internal partners/customers cost accounting needs are identified and supported accordingly.
- Ensure alignment of local cost accounting resources to strategic initiatives of the related businesses, functions and corporation.
- Support cost accountants in their various Fit for Future project roles, which may include being the project finance rep., a team participant, or supplier of financial reporting data to a project team. Coach accountants on project measurements, how to best collect financial data
- Be seen as an active leader in the area & leadership teams.
- Encourage dialogue with key contacts, conduct surveys and communicate results.



- Minimum Education Required (to quality for position):
Degree in Accounting or other similar professional qualification.

- Minimum Experience (to quality for position): stated in range of years and type of experience
1. 12+ years of relevant costing experience with at least 5 years in a managerial experience in a multinational company environment and a proven record/capable of manage a group of experienced professional cost accountants.
2. Hand-on with good working knowledge of key costing processes such as standard cost, variance, SAP, etc in a MNC environment, added advantage if in a chemical manufacturing environment.

- Special Skills Required (required to qualify for position):
Proactive, hands-on mentality, self-motivated, team player with leadership skills. Strong communication skills, ability to influence other stakeholders outside of own line of reporting.


- In-depth understanding of the cost accounting processes such as standard cost setting, variances, US GAAP on inventory, SAP, LCOM, etc.
- Experience in dealing with internal and external auditors
- Good interpersonal and communication skills plus able to communicate with different levels.
- Good command of English/Mandarin both verbal and written.
- Responsible, approachable, practical and a goal getter
- Transparent and open management style plus ability to lead, develop and drive a group of professional costing team.
- Fully committed and not afraid to step up plus willing to put in “extra” in the event of needs
- Self-motivated with high energy level, willing to be hands-on & not afraid to take ownership on critical & complex tasks.
- Good integrity and not afraid to voice up what is right.
